The disease is Cleidocranial Dysplasia. They established that Dustin has it back in season 1 because the actor has the disease in real life. They thought it'd be better to incorporate it into his character rather than ignore it entirely.

Funny enough, I just watched a video on this yesterday (Gaten Matarazzo being interviewed on The Doctors, I think). I must've missed that detail back in S1, but those kinds of things always make me happy - when they incorporate something real like that about an actor's life into the character instead of pretending it's not there. Appreciate the info!

I went back and rewatched season 2 and I have a brand new appreciation for Billy. After the whole sauna scene, him begging Max to believe him... damn it. I can't believe I started feeling for him. Now to wait for tomorrow's react! 🙃

That scene between eleven and billy was so intense I had chills the entire time! Kudos to Millie, because this poor girl had to go through a lot of emotions this season for this role and I think she knocked it out of the park. Dacre too! And I agree this season feels the most well-made out of them all. I audibly reacted to that dutch angle at the newspaper office just like you guys did. Lol

Did you miss the part where I said "Dacre too!" He did do a great job. I'm waiting till they get to later episodes where I can comment more on his performance.

I didn't, I just think Dacre deserves more credit than Millie since it's the first season he got to play the lead role basically, Millie had that since the beginning

Haha right?? And I’d just seen season 2 like that week leading up to the S3 drop, so all that was still very fresh in my mind. That sauna sequence was HEAVY! But yeah, that and especially the sorta core-memory beach sequence got me feeling that much more for Billy. Dacre Montgomery really killed it this season.

Gahh, I just saw that smash into dutch moment in the office again yesterday and it still gets me. Such a cool little trick. And definitely agree on both counts! Love the way they're progressing El's journey coming of age & being a kid alongside all the other sci-fi stuff she has to do. And especially with where Billy started from season 2, I definitely found myself appreciating his performance that-much-more here. Especially by the end!!
