The kid who played Todd is now serving a life sentence for shooting his mom in the back of the head in 2020.

The suicidal teddy bear is a classic!! Funny no matter how many times you watch. And glad you noticed the Busty Asian Beauties - it's a running gag on the show. Are you sure Wes wasn't a bad guy? Think of what he was doing to that woman. He was taking advantage of her, getting sexual favours. Just because he wanted her did not mean that she wanted him - he forced it on her. It's a problem with all 'love potion' stories (not just SPN - they have a long history) and they don't really have any place in modern fiction anymore. Having said that, I do really like this episode. It's sort of a gentle comedy with some serious bits thrown in. SPN can get full on zany sometimes, but they don't dip into that well (no pun intended) too often. I think this is just a little quirky. You think Dean is dealing well? Remember, he lives a violent life, and is also drinking heavily now. Sam is clearly worried, and he knows his brother. Jensen's acting at the end is phenomenal. Dean internalizes everything, so when you get a glimpse into what he is truly feeling, it can be pretty devastating.

Ah the teddy bear episode 😂 And not to spoil anything... BUT You’ll get to see more of hell 😉😉 This is one of those ending talks that make me all excited for you to get further in the show! A lot of the things you talk about are going to explored so much more. And the show gets so much more meta. Likes it’s always been self aware but it gets like...Deadpool meta. I’m so looking forward to you watching more but also savoring this season and season 5

personally i'd wish for a better job, one not in food service lol. yeah the suicidal teddy is pretty iconic in the show, definitely one the fans and the cast all remember years later. also, from what i understand, i believe the next ep 4x09 was filmed at about the time jared and ruby's actress genevieve started dating so... interesting factoid to know for next week's ep? looking forward to what y'all think of it, it's the beginning of the mid season finale! have a good week!

I'd forgotten this was the teddy bear episode! I have a soft spot for this episode because of the offbeat humor, but tbh I don't feel sorry for Ted Raimi's character at all here, once I thought of it from the girlfriend's point of view. Otherwise, fun ep before things ramp up in the next one--really looking forward to next week's reaction :D

Jennifer Lundstrom

I really like the episodes written by Ben Edlund - he brings the weird and quirky out in every story.

I had the same exact reaction as Greg did when the teddy bear tried to shoot itself. I just love how serious the scene was trying to be 😂

John used the word “disparate” correctly. 😍😍😍

Ohhh haha, I bet! Still thinking about that poor Teddy 😅And YES!! Haha, I thought that was familiar. As for Wes, I appreciated the nuances in the characterization. Not to say he's a good guy - what he's doing *is* wrong, selfishly overriding someone else's autonomy. I guess I appreciated that, as opposed to being an obviously vile character, he's mostly a sad, lonely person who's tempted by a decision I think a lot of folks have probably fantasized about at one point or another - and deep down he seems to realize what he's doing is wrong & unhealthy. But that certainly doesn't excuse his actions or suggest he shouldn't have known better by any stretch. I feel like the only way a love potion story works by today's standards is by being a more-specific sort of monkey's paw scenario - which they essentially went with here. Agreed, though, on the quirkiness! I always enjoy an episode with a twist of lemon haha. These ones tend to feel akin to something like The Twilight Zone (just with a bit more humor). Definitely looking forward to more of them. And yessss, always love an emotional Dean episode. I think his trauma is becoming increasingly apparent as the episodes go. Perhaps he's just that good at compartmentalizing, so it's easy to think he copes better than Sam haha.

Goodnessss haha, that Teddy bear 😅😰 And I'm glad to hear that!! I know we're excited to keep on truckin'. And, given the schedule, I think we may be shooting a couple close together this week to get ahead for the holidays, so all the merrier! Have heard whispers about some of the show's more meta elements. We've gotten a taste in the past 3 seasons & change, but I have a feeling that's just the tip of the iceberg. Excited for some hell!!!

Hahaha not a bad idea! Just don't wish for a job at a Build-A-Bear 😅😝I can DEFINITELY see the sad Teddy taking on a life of its own as a meme within the community. I'll have that moment in my mind for a while lol. And it was you who posted this tidbit! Actually shot the next one today and referenced the info about Jared & Genevieve.. so retroactive shout-out to you!!

The teddy bear scenes are hilarious 🤣 and yeah John is right that teddy suicide scene had to be shot in a serious way so it could be funny. It's horrible and hilarious at the same time. The voice behind the teddy also deserves props.

"Tea parties... is that all there is?!" One of the funniest random lines of the series.
