Light is such a piece of shit. I dont like Misa as a character due to how her thing clashes with overall shows tone . But fuck Light , even I felt sorry for her, lol. I was okay with first half of the ep, seemed usual death note. But honestly I thought second half with plane landing on a desert willy nilly , having misille launching with death note.. I thought that was a bit much , to the point where it felt the clever death note writing was gone and all we had is cool anime stuff . Like I know death note goes for heightened fantastical realism, and use anime logic for their tension and action. But even with all that said , the last part of this ep felt too fantastical to me . To me , i always considered death note writing and direction above a lot of anime shows but this ep was really trying to throw all that nuance and clever tactics away . IDK John, maybe I am just too nit picky , lol

He really is lol. Smacking the drink out of her hand and everything. My mans has no chill. Definitely felt especially bad for Misa here. I can see where you're coming from with the desert bit. Thinking back, it does feel like a kind of jarring detour given how fast it transpires and then disappears as a concept. I thought the actual exchange was pretty tense - with the Chief, Sayu, and the freaky BDSM guy. But it does crank the action up considerably for half an episode.
