The biggest snub for me is When They See Us. I am also conflicted on award shows. I guess it shouldn't matter as long as these stories get told. The snub doesn't take anything away from their impact. but at the same time you want them to at least get some recognition or appreciation. Watchmen was my favorite show this year. I really appreciated this show and the topic they discussed. Also loved the ending. I wanted a season 2 but if the show ends with just 1 season, i would be satisfied.

2021-07-15 04:56:16 Agh! Still gotta make some time & catch up with When They See Us. Heard nothing but great things so far. I think the conundrum of these awards is that.. while they don't truly "matter" in the grand scheme of quality art... they're still a question of the quality of art, which is naturally going to inspire debate, no matter how little credence you lend the actual awarding process. Either way, it is a shame to see work like that overlooked, especially when it's of such relevancy. Glad you enjoyed Watchmen as well, though!! Really hoping they get to continue, but even one quality, well-rounded season is a blessing in this day-and-age.
