Fun fact. Remember during hunter exam when Hisoka was standing near a tree and emitting purple stuff , yup. That was nen, thats what scared Gon , and the viewer had no idea at that time either. Also most people were confused as fuck about all this, first tiime watching, so dont worry about not getting it immediately . They gonna go more in depth and repeat it multiple times . I think good way to think about it, My hero academia has quircks , Full metal alchemist has alchemy and HxH has nen. Its basically the magic/combat system for the show in its basic terms .Of course HxH always puts its own spin ,whatever it tries to do. Also theres no evil or good Nen, Nen is a force/aura its all depending on the persons mentality and how that person wants to use nen. Hisoka is a scary fucked up bad guy, so of course he gonna use it in antagonistic manner. Also good catch on Killua and his ego , honeslty I never thought about it like that , but it makes sense . That He is an epxerienced indvidual, but hes also just a kid , so he thinks he knows it all. Tho what scared him ,when Zushi releaased his nen or when Wing did . I interpreted , its because of Illumi and how much psychological damaged he did to Killua. So by association , that same power makes Killua put up his defenses , because its related to his brother. At least that how i interpreted And lastly I also thought about star wars and the force while watching this lol, mainly because AFAIK Jedi are inspired by Japanese samurai and star wars can get anime from time to time , so i dont think its weird at all to make those associations .

But good to know we'll have some more opportunities to learn about & expand upon Nen 😅generally, though, that seems like a good way to describe it (quirks, alchemy, nen, etc.), I'll keep that in mind! Also appreciate that nuance as well, it being partly about what parts of yourself you put into it with your intent & your emotion. That line stood out to me when Wing says his Nen produces a much more calm feeling due to his lack of malice. As for Killua, I can see a bit of both at play, but I think there's definitely that element of traumatic association at work. He's gotta associate that feeling & presence with Illumi. Glad we're not totally off with the Jedi stuff lol. Samurai with lazer swords! Who knows? Maybe Nen comes from midi-chlorians 😝

I hope you guys dont feel any pressure and responsibilty to take every little detail because its a reaction video. As long as you enjoy the experience its all that matters, and while understading inner workings of Nen and other mechanics in the show can make it far more enjoyable , its not essential.

Maybe a little, but I think that comes more from wanting to be able to give a sharp review. It's a delicate balance that has to take place in your subconscious, I guess.. lol. Loose enough to have fun with it, but also keeping focused on the important deets. But I appreciate the clarifier. I won't spend the next episodes buried in my notepad haha
