While i was not a fan of previous ep, this one was a lot more to my liking. The usual was good like always , animations , pacing , tone , direciton visuals and of course the music . But for me the highlight was the Spencer brother and his struggle with accepting the fact that he was useless and could not save his parents and going down into alcoholism , depression and ptsd. It just felt like it was pushing the right buttons for me . Just the tone and the conctrast with how prety the show is and how lonely the brother and sister felt because of lack of communication. And the simplicity of it, especially Violets letter was just really solid writing and understanding the shows characters . I dont think it would have worked if it was some verbose speech to help the sister . The show knew restraint and it was all the better for it . Also the whole strict teacher and Violets military background was great as well, wanted more of it honestly lol. Overall i def. agree with you , this was the best ep so far. I also just like when more depressing themes are tackled in anime while still retaining some of the better parts of humanity like love and hope and understanding each other

Really agree with you on the restraint and character stuff from this episode. Especially watching so many other shows/anime that are so in your face most of the time, I'm really loving that this is more emotional & character-oriented. Love seeing that subtle power of animation. And yeah haha, I'm glad the letter wasn't an info dump lol. I understand where you're coming from with the themes, too. I feel like balancing things out with the sadder or more sober nuances makes everything feel more like actual life. Even with the sci-fi shit lol. Really hoping they go more into the military background as well in future eps. Glad you're still enjoying, brother!!! :))
