Yh no still couldn't get on w this episode unfortunately. Although Kel from the council is one of my favourite characters 😂 the child acting just completely takes me out of this one it's so hard to watch. If only they'd found a better child actor I think this episode would've been amazing. Obviously this is 4yrs ago you watched this so it doesn't matter but I reckon the sync problem is cause you're on hbo max as I understand and uk viewers like me are watching on BBC Iplayer

Something very strange about syncing the episode this week. It's been a frustrating experience. I've got it synced countless times and with in a matter of seconds your footage has fallen behind and I'm listening to an echo. And the gap keeps increasing with time. I can't fathom what's happening. Any ideas anyone?

Hey, Daryl! Really sorry to hear you're experiencing trouble with this one :( this is our first time streaming the episode from HBO rather than a native file, so this may have something to do with it. I'll see what I can figure out so the next one's easier again!

My stance on this is that there isn't really any episode in the RTD run of the show that I dislike. They all seem well-intentioned and kind-hearted, regardless of any execution flaws that the episodes may have. And I do think these episodes help us understand the Doctor's and Rose's relationship on a very casual, day-to-day basis and show us that there is a lot more to their lives that happens off-screen (compared to ticking clocks shows like The Umbrella Academy, where there is no space for anything to happen between the scenes we see). I've had this with Supernatural, too - there are episodes that I don't necessarily want to rewatch because the stories themselves aren't that compelling, but I appreciate that all of those episodes help me get to a place in understanding the characters so that the big emotional beats, when they come, really do land. I think this and the last episode serve that purpose! Excited to see your reaction to the finale.
