I know this comment is 3 years old but seconded! This season is honestly my personal favorite, it has so many great episodes and I love Martha so much (also it’s super nostalgic for me)

To clarify for Greg, The Macra and the Bliss virus were seperate issues, eg the macra were not involved in the creating of the virus. As the Doctor explains in the episode (he basically sums up the second Doctor story “The Macra Terror” which was the last time he faced the Macra) in which they were still big crabs however, they had mind control back then and used humans as slaves to mine for toxic gasses, although no explanation is given I believe that the Macra devolved as they were stuck at the bottom of the motorway where all the toxic fumes are for several years and because they don’t need to work or use humans to collect the gas they devolved out of that ability over time, which is why they got significantly bigger because there’s a huge food supply. And the bliss virus was a bit like the virus in “I am Legend” except much faster and also it just kills you it doesn’t zombie/vampire you. Eg it was promised as a cure and it ended up being horrifically worse for the body and it became airborne which is what in novice Hames words “killed the planet in seven minutes flat”. Yes you got the wrong episode it was next weeks lol, but it always pays to be diligent so well done regardless 👌 And yeah this episode is one of my personal favourites of the show for pretty much all the reasons you guys liked it plus it has those little moments and reveals, which on rewatch are significantly better. Also helps that the hyms are really calming and the soundtrack is amazing too. Although the soundtrack being great is a thing from the end of last season through till season 10. This one and season 4 being my fav soundtracks.
