I think HxH author is pretty known for liking table top and video games, you can clearly see his info dumps , intruction manual like apporach to explaining systems and mechanics. The episode itself was just bad , there was nothing engaging about it. Thing is, every arc/season before greed island had similar approach to info dumps and mechanics , the difference was that the show balanced it out with actual emotional engagement and our characters struggles and intrigue . But the most important factor previous arcs felt like there was actual threat and danger to our characters , there were super tense episodes too without any action. Greed island feels like safe space, like childrens playground , the edge and more dramatic tone is missing . So all the info dumps are even more boring because it does not feel like its going somewhere , the viewer is not as engagaged . And like i said before majority of anime watchers rate this particular arc the lowest for similar reasons as you guys. And hyping up the next arc , can be a double edged sword . To me theres nothing I have seen in this genre in my anime watching years that portrays themes and characters and how interwines plotlines like the next arc. And theres more but that would be revealing too much. On the other hand the same hyped up arc succumbs to same pacing issues and authors writing style from time to time . It also holds more for me and other people because of context how shounen anime usually is and how it goes against the grain . I think its worth experiencing the show , even if people dont like it as much as the biggest fans , since it gives context for the genre and its tropes . But you already need to like main characters and what this show usually provides despite glaring issues . Basically whats good in hxh is great but there are a lot of caveats enjoying this show lol. I think patreon people would understand if you guys were to drop this show before the next arc and even if you decide to keep going , try to manage your expectations for it. lol. Next arc is great but its not some masterpiece of a genre that fans might say ( I would say its near that level personally )
