Idk if anyone has mentioned this, but John you are such a good sport! As much as Greg messes with you sometimes and you just play along so light heartedly! You guys are so entertaining! It’s okay to not be 100% on board with the Big Bag of Season 7. A good majority of us feel the same way and the season overall is definitely campy for sure. One of the main factors that kind of set this season apart is that Kripke era had such a defining tone to both the overall feel of the show and each character as well, and this season I think is the first time it’s completely evident we are in a totally different realm as far as style and tone goes. It could be there were still trying to find their footing, or it could be that this season just simply didn’t land, but even season 6 was still grounded in some of the roots Keipke left behind. With the Leviathans we get this exaggerated campiness that takes you out of the story quite often and it makes the experience jarring at times. In my opinion, the leviathans also seem like such an underdeveloped villain type. There’s nothing to them so far that really gets us as viewers invested in them in any way. Added to that the new direction and tone of the series we get this story that we have to adjust to all over again. Just my take so far! Thank you for making this season actually enjoyable to rewatch!
