Hi John, I'm enjoying your reactions so much! You are such a delight and I look forward to them and hearing your insight. I'm also watching SPN and I have seen all seasons of The Mandalorian, Book of Boba Fett, The Last of Us and I think there may have been others along with movies and I will probably start Psych at some point because it's so fun and Timothy (Cain) Omundson... need I say more? lol I've been really wanting to rewatch Outlander and would love to watch with you. I know it may not be the typical show for the channel, but I would love to hear your thoughts on the cinematography in Scotland and the show itself with all the character development and story. If you are looking to react to another show, I hope you'll consider Outlander because I will be here to watch with you!

I hate watching this episode so much, it makes me so uncomfortable. Hearing and watching Daisy's screams and cries makes me so uncomfortable. And that debating this online is the most frustrating never ending thing ever.

Just brilliant writing. Using the Portal to celebrate the 100th episode in a fun manner. And then taking that conceit to pull a massive twist that just knocks the wind out of you. Brilliant. This episode aired the night before the SHIELD panel at WonderCon and the cast/Writers all had these shit-eating grins on their faces the next day. So good.

This episode is my favorite of season 5. Fitz has been showing darker thoughts since his mission with hunter and enoch. Remember the cutting of the kree heads. Every time there was an anomaly in 5x12, 5x13, and even the beginning of this episode people were almost killed. The stress of that, the lack of sleep, and the looming threat of the end of the world caused fitz to do what he did during the kasius arc. He dissociated and made harder choices by seperating himself from that identity. In space it was his bounty hunter persona but here it became the hydra fitz. But by the end of the episode he stopped dissociating and fully accepted what he did. Some fans feel it is a morally gray choice. Daisy would never willingly turn off the inhibitor by doing the surgery as she thinks she ends the world. And the rift killed a agent so fitz had to act fast with no time to debate it before other people could be killed or worse it spreads. Fitz so badly wanted to avoid doing it that his old injury started again(did you notice season 2 stuttering fitz back) That is the thing about hard choices. Fitz made his choice. Hurt daisy and mack to save the lighthouse and the town.

5x5: "I told you about my experience in the Framework. ...And I did suffer previous brain trauma, which may have been exacerbated. I may have suffered from Prodromal Schizophrenia. So it's possible I did something to them... or, uh, I helped them escape, or... something worse... and blocked the memory." "I have it in me." Iain De Caestecker is so good. "Guess I was just super motivated by their nuptials. Become very invested in them as a couple. I just want them to, you know, last for, like, a long, long time." The thoughts of every AOS fan.

Gnarly that Daisy had to use her powers before her wound even healed yikes! 🙊 Also, I love that even in season 5 we get new characters like Deke, Enoch, Flint etc. (and bringing back of characters like Piper) who just become such a natural part of the story.

Rachel Recuero

The acting of Iain De Caestecker is superb in this episode.

"Cool origin story bro!" Maybe one of my favorite things he ever said out loud. Wait a minute ,maybe what he said before that when he called him " a red shirt that's trying to stop him from saving the world ,because that's what I do!" I think sometimes people forget that agent Coulson is the actual geek character of the show.

Ultimately, that moral ambiguity is what makes the episode so great... and so fun to talk about and debate what the right choice. For me, Fitz did the wrong thing. He did the Villain thing, and he knows it. You say Daisy would have never undergone the procedure. But I disagree. She was never even given the choice. She's a hero. I believe when faced with the reality of the situation, she would have made the tough call. And what makes it even MORE interesting, is this is like the third time, someone has stolen Daisy's choice away from her. Deke did it in the light house. Coulson did it when he ICE'd her, and now Fitz removes her choice. Can't say more due to spoilers, but that is such a beautiful set up for the rest of her arc this season.

I should not say never.(even though she most likely would have said no) I should say there is not in enough time to be convinced before more people. (Possible herself) could die which fitz could not risk. If fitz told daisy there would be a back and forth. Similar to her with hydra fitz debating on if her powers would destroy the world. Time was a major factor with fitz choice. All episode he was so adamant about wanting more time. he did not have that because he could not predict how or when the fears would attack. Fears can pretend to be someone else so there is no guarantee that anyone would not be killed if more came out. Yes fitz took away her choice and he knows how bad that decision was but just like with deke and with Coulson taking daisy choice it is because her choice would have been the wrong one.

Still catching up but can't wait to get to this reaction. One of the best episodes and twists of the series, and brilliantly acted by everyone.

I think my favourite part about this season is that it does harp on about how previous injuries can be reopened and worsened, like with Coulson and his wound on his chest from The Avengers starting to cause him issues and then with Fitz his brain injury, from Ward at the end of season 1 made his brain unable to cope with the frame work, two lives inside your memories thing.

When this was airing I remember there was a big separation in the fandom on whether you were Team Fitz or Team Daisy for practically the rest of the season. I was team Fitz but I understand why people weren't hahaha
