Ok. Now amelia is a cheater. There is no denying that. But i think sam and amelia are both people who are flawed and broken which is why i was not surprised that she was not conflicted. She had already chosen sam in her heart and he left so she stuck with don. How many times has sam done questionable things But here is my interpretation of this episode. Both Sam and dean over this last year have needed something emotionally from each other that they were not getting. Amelia and Benny both also get that something from each brother. Sam is reliable and always there for amelia (she points out don always leaves on trips) that dean wants from sam. Benny gets dean's unconditional support that Sam wants from dean. Sam wants to be needed (this episode you can see dean constantly saying they do not need sam) and dean wants someone he can trust. At the end the of the day both of them were forming bonds that were distracting them from the mission so they both ended those relationships even tho it is not what they really wanted. Dean told sam to be fully in and kevin's talk made him also cut those bonds outside the job even though both hurt the people they left behind. Now sam and dean are on the same page.

Poor Benny.😢😢

I honestly hate how they try to draw parallels between Benny/Dean and Samelia - as if a bond that came from fighting in Monsterlandia together for a year has anything to do with/could in any way be compared to nearly hitting a dog and getting guilted (damn sure wasn't all their scads of on-screen chemistry) into a relationship (and a dog) by an unpleasant vet for a year in a shitty Texas town named after a MUPPET. Unless they're trying to say that living with Amelia for a year was like being in 360-degree combat like in Purgatory or something lol Season 8 has its moments, but the majority of this episode ain't it. xp

Listen...if Sam Winchester showed up my husband wouldn't even be mad at me. And yes, we've had that conversation. LMAO.

yeah, not to mention how Benny is from the supernatural universe, the boys constantly interact with other supernatural characters often. Sam not dragging Amelia I get because she is a normal person from a normal life. But Dean really didn't have to cut Benny off.

I do not think it is about what "universe" they are from. I think it is that benny kept calling dean and he wanted to drop everything to help him even if they had a mission. He can not expect sam not to have something on the side that is not even about hunting if he also does(benny just wanted company) amelia maybe unlikeable to us but why would you think the bond is not as important. Most of the time those type of romantic relationships are stronger than friendships and the fact that she cheated on don against her beliefs seems to say how strong those feelings are supposed to be. If benny saved dean physically i would say Amelia saved sam emotionally when he was all alone without anyone else. The problem is we don't feel strongly about amelia and do not want her around but actually do care about benny. And the irony comes us not wanting benny to be alone during a hard time but that is what sam had to go through and is what amelia saved him from.

The Cas/Naomi/Samandriel stuff is definitely the most interesting part of this episode for me. It leaves the viewer with a lot of questions, and feeling sad over Samandriel's death (and the fact that it was Cas that murdered him). It's also sad to see Benny be abandoned by Dean. Benny is such a likable, and in some ways relatable character, that we do care about him and his relationship with Dean. We want Benny to do what's right and we definitely can see him struggling here which sucks. Sam and Amelia...just blech. There's not a moment in their whole storyline that I like. Amelia is just so unlikable and I can't figure out if it's the actress (and her lack of chemistry with Jared) or if it's simply the writing for her character and the storyline. I remember when this first aired that I literally cheered when Amelia showed up at the motel room at the end and Sam wasn't there. I just wanted the storyline to be over, and I hate that I feel that way because I'm not someone who doesn't want Sam and Dean to find happiness outside of hunting, but Sam can do so much better. That's all I'll say. The parallels between Dean/Benny and Sam/Amelia here doesn't quite work for the viewer I think. I get the idea of getting rid of outside distractions (like Kevin and his mom), but Benny literally fought alongside Dean in purgatory and probably kept Dean alive to get back to Sam, so yeah he's earned his friendship with Dean, and should have somewhat earned Sam's trust too (yes Dean could've been less vague while describing what happened with Martin and Benny's granddaughter to Sam). Amelia is literally cheating on her husband with Sam in this episode. She can't seem to make up her mind between two men and Sam needed to cut ties completely to the mess that she is, especially if he plans to keep hunting. Anyway, I love the rest of this season for the most part. Can't wait for the next couple reactions especially! :)

Not sure why, but its always been a small pet peeve of mine when the Angels and Demons refer to it as " Angel Radio". Like, it is referred to that by Dean obviously, but I feel there is an actual, more angelic sounding name to it that monsters would say.

TBH, by breaking up with Amelia, Sam just saved her life LOL.

"You save a vampire by making me believe the woman I love might be dead?" If you think of it in the way that Benny and Amelia play similar roles in this scenario, then it's clear that instead of choosing "vampire" over "possible sister-in-law", Dean is choosing the life of the man he loved over Sam worrying for a while on possibly nothing serious. Dean made a choice that in his point of view, makes perfect sense. But Sam probably never wrapped his head around the fact that Dean might love anybody other than his little brother. (especially when the "other person" is inhuman, and a male) (wink wink)
