Luisa d’Olivera was in season 4’s Halloween ep of Supernatural before this, probably where John recognised her from. She was the friend of Ashley Benson’s character who drowned bobbing for apples.

Aghh, so many thoughts! But trying to compose myself and not write a epic war novel. Yes this episode was great for the many nods, tributes, and directorial choices. And speaking of directors, this was a GREAT directorial debut for James Roday, he helped co-write a few eps before and he with Dule Hill are co-producing many of this eps, but seeing what he pulled off in this one, shows how passionate he is for this show and for other things that he was able to bring into the ep. The Lassiter side-plot some may say it didn't fit within this ep., but the plot itself is very well done! I've said from the start of this show how Lassiter's character is a special project for Steve Franks (knowing how his father, Burton Franks used to be a police officer), from the start he had plans for him and we see the growth Lassie has in this episode and from the person he was in day 1. 🚨NEXT WEEK SEASON FINALE🚨 Now, just to temper the hype cause I know I've overhyped eps before. This episode is undeniable one of the best of the series! now, it might not be no Breaking Bad "Felina", but within its genre is great because it has a good mystery plot and as a fan of this show and characters, you see them challenged and forced to act like you never seen them before. Fun tidbits: Obviously full of ̶e̶a̶s̶t̶e̶r̶ ̶e̶g̶g̶s̶ halloween eggs🎃 that I don't need to repeat, there are a couple of fun Psych eggs: Camp Tikihama referenced in a few previous eps, the Tikihama song that played while we saw the sinking doll was a "studio" version of what Dwayne Tancana (the prisoner from the bounty hunter ep) made up when he was in the kitchen with Henry; The ep aired on Feb 13, 2009, the same day as the '09 remake of Friday the 13th..starring Jared Padaleki! The refrigerator from the camp where you spotted the second pineapple was itself an easter egg, it was the same fridge from S2 finale, from the museum where they found the dead security guard in. Also the "worst tag team" ref Clive made, "Nikolai Volkoff and The Iron Sheik" were a infamous wrestling tag team from the 80s composed of a russian nationalis and and iranian soldier who teamed up against Hulk Hogan and other americans,,,it's as weird as it sounds.😂

This and the finale next week might be my favorite back to back episode combo of the show!

Eric Lane

This is one of my favorite episodes, as is next weeks. Mackenzie Astin who played Jsson is the son of John Astin (Gomez Addams from The Addams Family) and Patty Duke (Miracle Worker), as well as the brother of Sean Astin. He also starred in The Garbage Pail Kids Movie. On the DVD Commentary they said he knows some people who work on Psych who said he should read for the role. So he did a self taped audition with his Dad reading the lines opposite him. They heard it and said "is that John Astin?" I really like Eldon Henson who played Clive in this episode. He was in the Mighty Ducks and the Daredevil Netflix Series. From the DVD Commentary they said he moved back to Oregon and was quitting acting when his agent convinced him to audition for the role. He had just the right snarky sense of humor for it. I am pretty sure this was the first role for the girl who played Sissy. You really do learn a lot from the commentary. I'm so glad you loved the episode. And you really have become a full on Psych-O! By the way, nice job singing Harvey Danger.

I think I rewatch the show more with the commentary than without at this point.
