I mean korra is from the water Tribe, all of which are darker in skin color than the other nations so I mean 🤷‍♂️ and come on Olivia 😅 this all makes perfect sense. Mr. Sato wanted to test the weapons on people. Who better to test on than the avatar and the chief of police? Korra does not get things with convenience. She literally lost again in a fight, and was knocked out. She loses quite a bit. Its not that rare that she overheard something and had a hunch that was right. Why should she keep her discovery to herself? That kind of a reckless Anakin level thing to do. Asami said two episodes ago that she lost her mom when she was very young. So she probably won't remember as much. And for Sato, he wasn't captured. Only knocked out. So he can still make more machines. Youre killing me Smalls! 🤣😒

I'm really curious to hear more of Olivia's overall thoughts on Korra. In this episode, it made sense to me that Korra would be the only character to be suspicious of Hiroshi because she had no connection to him. Mako and Bolin had every reason to trust him after he met Mako personally and invited the both of them to live at his home. But Korra didn't have that, making her opinion much more objective. That was my take on it, but I understand the narrative flaws of the writing being a little too convenient. Unfortunately these seasons are much more fast paced because of the limited number of episodes.

One small thing about the technology. I totally get it that it feels out of field that the mecha suits beating the benders. But just keep in mind, there were trucks, tanks that turn in the middle, and a literal GIANT DRILL in avatar, 70 years before this world's Industrial Revolution happened. But I get in this new show it seems so sudden

I have to give praise to Daniel Dae Kim as Hiroshi. I am glad the creators remembered him as General Fung in ATLA 2x1. In this show, he really gets a chance to expand on a three-dimensional character and not just have a one-off episode. Now, he is going to Fire Lord Ozai in the live-action show. Keep on climbing that villain ladder, Daniel.

If things seem to be happening quickly it's cause the creators originally only thought they were gonna get the one season so they paced the story for 12 episodes.
