Chase Gardner

Maybe my favorite episode of this season 1.

Jan Popieluch

First things first: I've just watched 6 episodes of the season 2 on the press screener. I already can't wait to see your reaction to it :D Also, if you haven't watched the animated "Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf" movie, you should do that. I looks like its events are canon for the 2nd season. But back to your reaction. That episode was especially awaited by the Polish audience because of the infamous Polish TV series The Hexer from 2002 ("hexer" is an early translation of Polish "wiedźmin", now abandoned in favour of "witcher"). The show and the movie related to it, although graced with some brilliant actors, was painfully low-budget and that constraint was most obvious with the poorly CGI-ed golden dragon. I liked the Netflix version but the non-orthodox design of the dragon caused many people to flashback to the 2002 series. As the story goes, it's mostly similar to the books. The main thing missing is the context of Polish folklore. The short story massively references the legendary Wawel Dragon. In a legend, dating to 13th century, the dragon terrorizing people of Kraków was ultimately tricked and killed by a cobbler feeding him a sheep skin filled with sulfur.

Whoops. I was saying isn't it funny that nobody thinks to just have Yen portal them to the top? She could do it easily, but it's never even brought up lol

Jan Popieluch

The answer is quite simple. It's hard and dangerous to create portals to places you've never been to. Similarly to apparition in Harry Potter ;)
