I remember seeing this in the theater and back then it was like going to an event.. and w/ the long intro w/ that score it was like being at an event. This movie was such a big deal when it came out.

Hey Coy, in the comics, why did Jor El and his wife not leave Krypton?

David Crabtree

1) The dubbed Christopher Reeve's voice over the actor who played younger Clark. 2) The green crystal that is given to Clark as a baby and that he uses to create the Fortress is not Kryptonite. 3) Supergirl (1984) is not a good film(in my subjective opinion), but Helen Slater is fantastic as Supergirl and I think it is worth a watch for her performance. 4) During their flight together, I don't belive he was reading her mind, we were just hearing her inner monologue. 5) While I adore this movie, and think the first two-thirds are great, the third act is a bit of a mess for me. 6) I highly recommend continuing on with Superman 2, the REAL theatrical verison, not the "Donner Cut" nonsense. For me, the theatrical version is the far better version, don't really care for the unfinished Donner Cut. There are some iconic scenes in the theatrical version that are missing from the Donner cut. But the Donner Cut is worth eventually watching for historical reference.

If you want to continue with these series, you have two choices with Superman II. The theatrical cut is a finished film that has a somewhat inconsistent tone due to Richard Lester taking over mid-way through. The Donner Cut is closer to Richard Donner's original vision but it is spliced with test footage and reshoots. It's up to you. Also, the missile that Superman throws into space was supposed to directly connect to the opening of Donner's sequel. There was going to be a cliffhanger but the studio forced him to change it to a more hopeful ending.
