Sandman... you say? I'd gladly join in on any and all Jenna Coleman appreciation reactions! Much love for Clara and Jenna.

this is one of my favorite companion send-offs in the entire show! it gets me everytime. also, yeah, a LOT of people dropped doctor who when capaldi was introduced, me included. started watching it again in 2016, though, and became obsessed all over again. and i'm glad i did. because twelve is 100% without a doubt my favorite doctor, and the latter half of this season is my favorite collection of episodes in the history of anything ever! really looking forward to next week's reaction :)

"just zoned out for a minute thinking about how I would fall in love with her on set" you've never been more relatable to me, Greg. i was in my late teens when the Clara episodes were airing and Jenna Coleman was basically the final straw in coming to terms with my sexuality lol. I can't praise her performance enough this episode. Her facial expressions in the last diner scene are gut-wrenching. This, btw, was one of the most polarizing series of the show, especially the finale, because fans expected more lore on Gallifrey and the Time Lord council and instead got this intimate character study and deconstruction of the Doctor/Companion roles through Twelve and Clara. To me, that was way more interesting than an exposition dump about Gallifrey, but to each their own.

oh, seconding this! i had to pack up my life and move before i got to finish this show, so it'd be fun to do a watch along with fellow whovian patrons if your schedule happens to open up.

This episode marks the end of my favorite Doctor Who era. Also the last time I've been brought to tears by this show. Such an amazing use of Clara's theme, which was with us since the Snowmen <3

Tavaris Trimble

My second favorite episode is next.

I know Clara is a controversial character among the fandom. I have always loved Clara and Jenna's performance. She is so dynamic in this show and her character will be sorely missed. Clara has spent so much time with all of the Doctors across the years that she becomes much like him. She saves Rigsy like when the Ninth Doctor saved Rose, assuming a dangerous power that will kill the person. It makes sense that Clara doesn't say goodbye because The Doctor doesn't like goodbyes. She runs away from responsibility like The First Doctor on Gallifrey. However, the Doctor doesn't ever want to go back whereas Clara realizes she does have to go back only taking "The Long Way Round". Goodbye Clara.

Yeah it was kind of disheartening information to learn that from soooo many people cause in our opinion, this iteration does have some of the best doctor who has to offer. INCLUDING Clara!

hahaha this comment brought me joy 😂 I can understand why fans would want that. Maybe it has something to do with when we started the series but the show hasn't really painted Gallifrey in the most interesting of lights. Like it's cool and all, but more satisfied with something like this than more world building on Gallifrey. Although can see it be a missing piece

Yeah was surprised to hear how controversial of a character she was cause she was like....unquestionably our favorite companion thus far lol
