Transformation Tuesday: The Rite (Patreon)

Across the land, witches plague many a village. It is the sworn duty of the priesthood to track down the witches and perform The Rite. To the outside world, it is seen as a valiant attempt to rid the lands of the wicked sorceresses. Unfortunately, few priests survive the endeavor, though their sacrifice is revered. Those that survive, refuse to speak of the horrors, only that it took great devotion in their deity to overcome the experience. Unbeknownst to the average citizen, however, the rite is a intricate part of the witches' religion, allowing them to awaken their true magical powers (and form), and transcend the shit hole the superstitious villagers say they "plague." It seems it all comes down to a mistranslated text in the priesthood, though the witches don't mind the game of cat and mouse one bit...
