So excited! The fandom is WAV! I fear you have entered dangerous waters though because once you start with TripleS, there’s no way out! Season 1 & 2 are some of the best quality variety content I’ve watched. The girls amp up the chaos and hysterics by each episode and season

I really recommend after finishing Season One, to take a short break and watch these one-off variety videos, as a good introduction to OT24 *BEFORE* diving into the insanity of Season Two. The 2nd season has the same amount of episodes and about the same length of time, but 1.5x the amount of girls so unfortunately lots of members (especially the new girls) end up with little screen time. And season two also doesn't spend as much time introducing everyone like season one did so you're gonna be a lot more lost. These are longer videos but HIGHLY worth watching! And to think - we almost didn't get this concept for TripleS first variety show! Like youve heard before, us WAVs get to vote on many things for the group - everything from the fandom name, to picking the title tracks, to the lightstick, and yes, we picked this show! The two other possibilities weren't nearly as interesting as Badge War turned out to be so I'm SO glad it won the Gravity (voting system name)!

this is a very very very good idea. The weekly idol episode and the GreeGura interview was perfect to get to know the members slowly as the entire episode for both was literally just focused on introducing each member (but in both cases edited and done incredibly well and entertainingly). Badge Wars S2 was really shot out of a cannon from the get go. But to be fair.....of the final 8 members a few of them were highlighted in a few of the segments (jiyeon, chaewon) pretty prominently

You will slowly learn the competitive force that is the Mom and Dad of tripleS - S1 Seoyeon and S5 Yooyeon, and the craziness of S4 Chaeyeon LOL and the yappers S6 Soomin and S12 Yeonji.

and I'll say this....like you, Im korean as well and older than you and have followed kpop since the beginning (I actually attended a Gayo Top 10 once with Deux and SeoTaeji) and have watched years worth of idol variety. This show, by far, is one of THE BEST ever done even down to the on screen text edits. The Behind the Scenes for S2 that 1theK did was even better than 95% of actual idol variety shows out there.

S5 YooYeon is by far the most popular (at least in korea). She is definitely the most marketed and does the most promotions for the group. (I can't even think of a YT show she HASN'T been on). Shes the arrow shooter in Generation as well as Girls Never Die, the oldest, and the de facto leader (along with S1 Seoyeon) even tho they don't have an official leader. She first rose to fame as a contestant on My Teenage Girl (the show that created Classy) bc she wasn't a trainee.....she was a student at Ewha studying Science Education and was known as the Ewha Goddess (so brains and visuals)

We have no choice, since starting signal would be a nightmare( 2 years of collection). Badge war is all we have. Its nice that the girls started going more into variety show alot this day.

the seoyeon sohyun name confusion is funny because s24 (not here, obviously) is ji suhyeon, same hangul as seoyeon lol. they kept getting confused when they called for them so she got assigned the stage name jiyeon instead. maknae s23 seoha also is a stage name because her given name is jeong haerin vs s2 jeong hyerin lol. season one is really fun and a good intro to the girls as people (it's what helped solidify a lot of them into my memory) but season two is imo much more fun and waaaaay more insane! can't wait to see you get into them more!!

Yeah you got it right, I keep having to correct people who say Jiyeon's real name is "almost the same as Seoyeon" - when it IS the same, 서연. But when she was first introduced, they just romanized it weirdly as "Suhyeon" - which made people think it's pronounced 수현, which is totally different.

yeah, i distinctly remember that summer going bc I wanted to see deux, Noise, DJ Doc, SOLID, Cool and caring less about seotaeji bc their album at the time was basically just a rip off of Cypress Hill song for song. But especially Deux, SOLID, and DJ Doc were at the top of the list

One of the best variety series I have watched PERIOD I think it’s such a step up for 1theK for the concepts and directing and the girls themselves have brought a lot too it, it’s been one of the shows that actually made me audibly laugh and I was so impressed with season 1 and 2 ITS SO HIGH QUALITY

QP is worth watching for Jiwoo alone imo. Her growth there is incredible, and it is very clear after watching it how participating in QP with the different performances, and learning from so many unnies and sunbaenims, took Jiwoo to the next level. (Seoyeon also seemed to get a lot of good experience from it, too, but since Jiwoo lasted longer it's a lot more prominent with her.)
