I don't understand. This seems to be saying that Cloud's death was to deceive the enemy into thinking she was the shuttle's only occupant. But in the previous panel, Tempo says it's OK to use the helmet comms because the enemy knows they're here now anyway. So I must be missing something.

an HOUR ago, Cloud died to trick the enemy. JUST NOW, after the jump, the enemy started de-pressurizing the shuttle.... which probably means that either they've figured out the Loroi are there, or will figure it out when the Loroi start shooting in like 15 seconds.

Nooooo! Poor Cloud. She deserved better. Even if she was a minor character, I would have loved to see her join Alex's adventures. But I guess that's war. :( However, I can almost guess that this tactic is going to affect Alex's judgement on the loroi in general. Quite likely not for the better.

Dosent make a lot of sense, cloud dosent wear pilot uniform, and if umiak were mind tricked into beliving she was pilot, her presence wasnt necessary.

In an all-out war where the winner is the most genocidal, sacrifice is expected. Cloud is gone, it was her duty, paradoxically it was the goal of her very existence. Now, I am just wondering how much of free will she had when she agreed to the ultimate order. After all, there is a kind of a very subtle but manipulative person in the group.
