My friends! With the Panther diorama finished, I'm ready to slow things down before Christmas and then take my usual week off during the holidays.

But that doesn't mean I won't be building models - quite the opposite! I bought this E-100 a couple of weeks ago as my next project, and it's gonna be different. Probably the first what-if tank on the channel since the Ball Tank, but also, I want to go back a couple of years and focus mainly on the build and weathering. Get as much out of the construction, then apply a simple base coat without any post-shading, and focus on the weathering. Similar to what I did with the Jagdtiger :)

I have a couple figures for it, but I don't plan on making any type of diorama. A small scenic base at most, but I'm not even sure about that. I really just want to focus all my attention on the tank itself.

Ironically, I had the old Dragon kit in my stash already, but after seeing these new kits, it just seemed better to get one of these instead and focus on the fun parts... and save time and energy on the mistakes and imperfections of the old kit.

I have two camouflages in mind so far, and a couple of modifications as well. I'd like to stylize the tank as a Jagdtiger because I have a few cool parts left from that model, so... we'll see what will come out of it :)

I'll start with the turret because holy smokes, check out that lovely texture!

P.S.: There are several cool turret designs with these new kits, but I'm a sucker for the old-school Maus turret. I loved this design since I saw it first in the old Dragon catalogue when I was a kid :)

Jaké budou použity figurky? Už se těším na ukázku malby figurek 👏🫡

Wasn't your Rutschter the last what-if you did?

That texture on the turret just hit all the spots :D The tank itself provides place enough for a diorama I think

Awesome to see a return to the old style builds! That turret texture is awesome, in general amusing hobby has it down when it comes to texture

nightshiftmodeller

That's true! Even the Ferdinand had pretty nice textures. But, of course, I'm gonna rework a lot of it, especially the welds and flame cuts :)

I think I'll pick up that one prototype Japanese tank destroyer thingy they released at some point, I remember inspecting it and seeing these deep scratches on the upper hull. Such an awesome kit/manufacturer

Tyler Czarnecki

Martin I just bought this one!!

Tedi

Oh boy oh boy! Long have I waited for this!

Wow. I Just put down the airbrush after doing some basecoats following along with your Mark IV video, see a notification from patron and boom! The amusing hobby kit is lovely, got it a while back and it's waiting in the stash until I've got a few more projects under my belt to do it justice. Recently finished my first 1/35 kit after maybe 20 years of warhammer kits and have completely got the historical 'bug' thanks to your videos. Definitely looking forward to the progress on this one!

Fun fact! A US GP (Jeep) can fit inside the Maus turret! I discovered that while playing with the 1/35 Maus (Takom rebox from Hobby 2000) in my stash.

Joxar

Oh cool! I've been waiting for either this or a Maus 😁

Robert Hallack

Super stoked about this one. Gotta a couple of Panzer 1946's in the stash.

Not tempted by an Ausf. B with Rinaldi turret? 😀

Paul Garrity

The texture they have achieved on the turret is top tier. Can't say I have ever seen armour plate moulded so convincingly. Interested to see what you do with the turret alone Dio or not, 2025 is looking up with a return to armour!!

Scott Gentry

Oh yeah! It’s happening! :)

I ordered this same kit a few weeks ago. Very impressed with it. Now I have to order tracks & PE 😁

Solomon Hollowell

Super excited about this! Turret texture is awesome!

Enjoy this mammoth piece of steel and your time off Martin !

I love the E-100 and how imposing it is, I do hope you add some "what if" improvements like tools, a fire extinguisher, tow cables, night vision etc. When I build what if models I always imagine what they would look like if mass produced and add all the stuff but never go crazy, keep it realistic. Hats off to you for not shying away from big builds, which mean more work for you, just the sheer amount of surface to cover, adds so many hours. But hey Christmas is here so keep your hands off of the E-100 for now and enjoy your time off!!! 🎄🎁 Chris

That turret casting looks stunning for a plastic part! Enjoy the build.

Benjamin

I recently finished building it, and I've decided to make all the E-100 types. :P I’m curious to see what you will make of it, MASTER!

Eric

Great subject Uncle a big subject but great 👍 you might need a bigger display case 😜

nightshiftmodeller

The texture is truly spectacular! But adding it on the roof plate is just odd. Maybe they wanted to convey how thick the roof plate was compared to other tanks :)

Chonky boi!
