Can we all agree now that Lucasfilm should put Favreau and Filloni in charge of the creative direction of all of SW moving forward? (And if they're not available, Paul Bateman would be a good backup. : ) )

Aaron Rios

The end of the episode got cut off for me, anyone else? I wanted to hear Paul's special sign off .

Diving in now! That Mandalorian footage looked great!

This page has a great behind the scenes picture of Bossk on Jabba’s barge in Jedi. https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Bossk/Legends

#SaveTheMonkeyLizards! Right there with you. Love those creatures!

Beskar is Manalorian iron that was used to create mandalorian armor...its mined on Mandalore and is extremely durable and rare. I'm pretty sure it's from the old EU but made it's most recent appearance on Rebels I believe. Sabine created that weapon that was able to target the Beskar and superheat it roasting those wearing the armor...turning them to ash.

I just completed the upload of the FULL show, including Paul's sign off. The missing 2 minutes are back! - JMac

Did you guys talk about the furry hands repairing Kylo's helmet yet? Is it Chewie?

Eric from Phoenix

I didn’t know any of that, thanks for sharing! I haven’t bought any books or comic books since the late 90’s so I’m not familiar with things if it wasn’t in a cartoon or movie.

Eric from Phoenix

Jimmy, the download on the Patreon app did update but Apple podcast version from the Patreon issfeed didn’t update.

Paul touched on a point I've yet to hear anyone discuss. We learn in the thrawn alliances book that the Chiss word for a force user translates into basic as Skywalker. That's a canon book

Jared Cantor

Man, Paul is preaching at the end of the episode!

Timmy Barrow

Yah, I'm glad others feel the same way about Rey being special because she's a nobody...it makes no sense. Literally every Jedi came from a non-force lineage...force sensitive kids are discovered, join the order, become jedi and don't have kids of their own...they're all from nowhere! That doesn't make her special.

Jared Cantor

But, I am one of those folks who like that she is a 'nobody'. Not because it makes her special, but because it is a return to form. Most of SW so far has been about the Skywalker bloodline, which is 'unique' in the sense that Anakin married and had kids, and then one of those kids married and had a kid, and they all are force wielders. So, Rey having the Force but not being related to the Skywalkers does not make her 'unique', I agree, but I do like that it is a return to form (anyone can be a Jedi).

Timmy Barrow

Oh yah don't get me wrong...I did want Rey to be "special" somehow, but I do like that force sensitives can be born to anyone, anywhere. I had assumed that all over the galaxy children with force abilities were being born. Our story just isn't focused on them, and there is no Jedi Order that has the ability to discover them. I actually thought that this trilogy was going to focus on more of our main characters with the force. It wasn't just awakening in Rey but Finn and Poe as well. Why did Kylo sense Finn on Jakku, and why was Finn able to break his programming? ..because he is force sensitive. Why is Poe such an insanely good pilot? ..because he is unknowingly tapping into the force. I do like the return to form, definitely.

Timmy Barrow

Kinda dissappointed we havent really heard much discussion on it yet. Thanks for bringing it up lol. The Chiss "Skywalkers" are used to help navigate the Chiss through the galaxy, since they do not have navi-computers....it's interesting that the Skywalker family does the same in a larger sense. They provide leadership and guidance to the Rebels, New Republic, Resistance. I can see Rey becoming "the Skywalker". The head of the Jedi Order that leads them and the galaxy into the future and guides them through whatever troubles that may arise. Just a theory.

Sean W. from Warsaw

I've been dying to hear Paul Bateman's return like everyone else! I think what intrigued me most was what a few touched on just a bit: That Rey's abilities and accomplishments just...don't feel earned. I do like Rey quite a bit; she has a wonderful charisma and personality and is the optimistic Star Wars character we need. But lets face it: She beat the villain in the first movie; and then whooped half of the Praetorian Guards and got away from Kylo more or less Scott free. So...what more is there to look forward to for her character? The narrative tension has been gone from the end of the TFA. Is there any possibility you guys could delve into this a little deeper in the future? It's honestly driving me crazy! What can we look forward to knowing she already beat the bad guys and knowing she will again? I can manage with whatever explanation they want to throw at us; but it's the narrative tension being thrown away that's the problem. Thoughts?

Great review! Thanks guys!

Daniel Allinson

With regards to Rey’s early accomplishments, I think we have to remember this is almost a Star Wars tradition throughout the saga. A slave taking down the Trade Federations control ship, saving an entire planet in the process, and a farm boy singlehandedly destroying the Death Star.
