RFR VIP Frank Emanuele joins Jimmy Mac for a wide-ranging STAR WARS conversation kicking off with comparisons between the first trailer for THE FORCE AWAKENS to the latest trailer for THE RISE OF SKYWALKER. This leads to us noticing the similarities between Rey at the beginning of Episode VII and Luke at the beginning of Episode IV. Did Luke’s desperation to leave Tatooine fuel a desire to join the Empire? We know Rey wanted to be reunited with her parents, but what were her ambitions as an individual? This topic becomes a springboard for analysis into Rey’s character and the mystery surrounding it. The bigger question is the purpose of her as a player in the overall saga. Is the value of the character found in her affect on the actual story itself, or is it just the simple mystery surrounding her?  Mystery vs Purpose...Which is a more effective STAR WARS storytelling technique? Frank and Jimmy try to provide some  answers and look at some other mysteries presented in THE SKYWALKER SAGA.

Yep, well, North Shore. AMC Liberty Tree 20 is my home theatre ;)

Speaking of seeing Clapton, I've only seen him once. But it was at the Cream reunion at MSG back in 2005. Pretty amazing.

Whoops! Thanks for spoiling the death of a major Marvel character. I was planning to catch up with all of the Marvel films on Disney Plus :)

I think the destruction of the new republic would have resulted in less chaos because it was relatively weak and the systems were much stronger. It would be similar to the United Nations ceasing to exist. There would be negative consequences but not utter chaos.

Man...This is a case of you snooze, you lose. If you cared enough about the Marvel films, you would have already watched them. Endgame came out like 6 months ago. I know we live in the age of ON DEMAND everything and it's hard to sort out what to watch and when to watch it, but I cannot let that dictate the flow of a normal conversation between two pop culture junkies. Sorry I spoiled that one for you, though. - JMac

I was just watching a Cream show from that tour on AXS. It was from Royal Albert Hall. I wish I saw this show live.

No problem at all, and certainly no rancor intended. I just wasn't expecting to hear it, and was optimistically hoping to avoid any spoilers until I get the opportunity to finally catch up with the Marvel saga on Disney Plus after falling behind with the Marvel films since the first wave. Life just takes over sometimes :) I respect your right to have a conversation about anything that is relevant to the way that the discussion is going in the shows that do not have any particular structure (e.g. Q&A and Rush Hour), which often enter very thought-provoking subjects.
