Join us for another Babu Freaks hangout where we discuss the few STAR WARS events and activities we were able to take part in during the Chicago summer. Hear about meeting up with MANDALORIAN actor Dominic Pace at Alley Cat Comics and the microbrewery we spent time at before and after. Plus, a report from Machtstock, an outdoor screening of ROGUE ONE and campout in Cris Macht's backyard. We also get caught up with JEDI FALLEN ORDER and some of the new Star Wars Marvel comic books.

Hey, hey! Any chance the patreons could get to be honorary babu freaks?

Really surprised about the opinions on Dr. Aphra radio drama. I never read the comics but for the most part liked the audio drama (but definitely see your point). Sounds like I need to read the comics instead. Great stuff guys!

I haven't had a chance to do it yet, but if anyone challenges me on my mask, I'm going to tell them that I have Covid and am wearing it to protect them.

It was just so snarky and smarmy. So difficult to get through. I wanted her to shut up for a bit or actually take things seriously. The fact that she is just so casual and relaxed around Vader deflates so much of Vader's presence. Check the old radio dramas, when Vader appears people tense up. Even Han in ESB was not casual around Vader.

I am only 15 minutes in, but I have to say that Jimmy sounds completely toasted 😂

Just scored some Baby Yoda hand sanitizer at Wal-Mart right before hearing them talk about it. It's in the travel bin section with the travel shampoo, etc.

Thank you for more context! I heard the original comic was fun and that triple zero was a great character (like hk47 for kotor). Did you like the comic? Something about Star Wars Indiana Jones is attractive to me but didn't land w the radio drama. Also agreed there is no way Vader would allow Aphra to gain all that personal info on Luke for example. Side note- I def love those older radio dramas (highly second that recommendation for darth bane trilogy audiobook).

My wife is a teacher and someone has put one of those baby Yoda hand sanitizers in her mail box each of the last three days. Pretty cool that they know she is a Star Wars fan but also wondering if they are trying to tell her to wash her hands more frequently 😀. Oh well, I’ll keep one as a collectible.

John Riley

Well, it’s not like this is the “real” RFR show...😆

Tons of fun guys, thanks for the episode. I haven’t read any of the comics since Dark Horse did the Splinter of a Mind’s Eye adaptation. I did pick up the first three issues of the Bounty Hunter series. Only read the first one and I liked it. Not sure if there are more or if I’m current.

Ryan Parker

Glad to hear Jimmy is still pushing through Jedi Fallen Order. You gotta at least get to Dathomir!

Eric from Phoenix

The original radio dramas done by Brian Dailey were fantastic. I have the first two on cassette:)

It's hard to figure out how to get back out of there. I just Googled it at one point. That tomb is my least favorite part of the game, heh.

Brian Klein

Matthew, he had a long day and was probably more tired, than anything :) :)

Brian Klein

If all else fails, try YouTube, I had to do it a few times cuz after an hour of wandering, it gets frustrating

The comic is hit or miss for me. I dislike Aphra when she is rewarded for being an awful person. The best arc was when she was in a Saw trap dreamed up by Dr. Evazan. My problem with the character is people say she is like Indiana Jones. She’s not. She’s like a villain in an Indiana Jones movie. She’s Belloq.

Barry Harmon

Bounty Hunters is an ongoing series, not a mini like I thought it was. It’s pretty good, but is at its best when focused on film characters.

Antonio from NJ

> She’s Belloq dang dang dang ...that feels like the best explanation Ive heard. Its like they took the "scum and villainy" parts fo Han and mixed it with the activities for Indie. But what they forgot was the greater good aspect of both characters. Thank Barry for the reply. and of course, Hey, Hey!
