Gotta have Michael Mercy on the RFR airwaves one episode.

Looking forward to this! I sold my soul a few years back. All my toys for store credit at a comic shop. We were moving and the wife said it was time. That Voltron Jason's holding in the pic, gone. One of hundreds--including all my original SW figures. Haven't healed yet.

Love the Star Wars/wrestling parallels. Here’s another one: the sequels could have learned a lesson from wrestling in “getting someone over”. In wrestling, you don’t get new stars over in a vacuum. You play them off of established characters, either by making them oppose them or join forces with them. You don’t just put them out there on their own. But the creators of the ST were so intent on establishing the new characters on their own that they missed opportunities to let them play off the popularity of the old ones.

Great show Jason! So many things I could relate to. I was huge into GI Joe comics up until issue 60ish and had all the figures. It got weird with Serpentor and that’s when I quit watching / collecting. The original comics were very gritty. Loved the whole concept of the Pit. I think Craig’s best Bond was Skyfall with a close second being Casino Royalle. Fun watch!!

Michael McManus

Great show guys! Jason I love those Inspector Gadget Figures bud! That was definitely a big part of my childhood. Going to have to track those down for myself. The talk about Bond was great too! Casino Royale is the best new bond film. Looking forward to seeing who will pick up the mantle next.

Yikes! For years, starting with the POTF2 line, I collected 2 of every figure. 1 to rock & 1 to stock. Had lots of ships & playsets, too. I’d also grab anything that peeked my interests. Then, in 2006-ish I transitioned into costuming. It was around that time that I began a long process of putting my collection up for sale on consignment at a local collector’s shop. I don’t regret it. I’ve kept my open stuff and myself and my boys had many years of fun with those. I still enjoy following collecting news, but I rarely make purchases, these days.

I was finally able to finish this one! Great conversation! I’ve been following Micheal since Jason first mentioned him on RFR. Good dude, in my opinion, and a master at adding production value to YouTube videos! Aside from Star Wars, I was big into Joe, Transformers, MASK, LEGO, and Robotech. Although, those toys are long gone for me, watching Mr. Mercy’s toy reviews are the next best thing to having them, myself. The man truly understands what makes nostalgia so special. His presentations are simply brilliant.
