Yes! I'm excited to hear your guys' breakdown and analysis of this.

JR Eaton

I think the “I’m not a bounty hunter” line is simply that bounty hunters are always working for someone else, or relying on a boss or guild for work. Boba just wants to be his own boss/the boss now. Also maybe the rots deleted scene Jason is thinking of is Qui Gon talking to Yoda on Polis Massa, but Liam didn’t appear or record the dialogue, someone else recorded it. It’s on the blu ray.

Peter Beisser

The guys hit the nail right on the head. Filoni and Favreau's continued use of familiar aliens races is great. Puts the sequel trilogy to shame. Neal Scanlon flagrantly disregarded everything that came before. Looking forward to "Boba!"

Blake Weaver

I can’t wait for Book of Boba. I love the fact the trailer didn’t show us anything. I want to be surprised every episode. I’m also a fan of them developing Fett as a full character. Him just being a brutal bounty Hunter I feel would be a disservice to him and how he fits in this beautiful story. I think that large city we see in the trailer is gonna be Bestine. If I’m correct it’s a big capital city on Tatooine we’ve only ever seen in the old online game Star Wars Galxies. The more Tatooine we get the happier I am as a fan.

Great episode can’t wait for the book of boba!

That's a good perspective to have on Boba's first line, one which I hadn't considered. I really hope you're right. That line was not a good line for me. It soured the whole trailer, because it smelled too much of redefining the character, something I'm deeply concerned about, not too dissimilar to Swank and Jimmy, apparently. Boba is no anti-hero, and certainly no noble, misunderstood hero. He's a villain. All you ever needed to know about him to understand who and what he is is in TESB: When Vader orders him strictly against disintegrations. The guy is a cold blooded killer who's known for taking it to the next level when taking in his bounties dead rather than alive. Vader even emphasizes the word "alive" to him to bring home the point about Boba's character. I just hope they don't play it soft with Boba.... As the boss, now, "ruling with respect" shouldn't be that dissimilar to how you hear about mob bosses ruling with respect: The only way to get respect in the criminal world is at the end of a gun. As the boss, he would likely know this, and I would have a really hard time seeing the other bosses not take advantage were it otherwise. If the original teaser for Book of Boba gave us any indication at the end of Mando Season 2, it's that he's not messing around as the boss. Time will tell! But man, that first line in this trailer just throws it off. Could have easily been supplemented with what you were talking about, something like, "I'm no bounty hunter: I'm the ruler of this underworld. Bounty hunters work for me." So maybe that line is misleading. We shall see.

Maybe it sounds too harsh to say, but I'll say it: If Disney wasn't up for taking Boba seriously, maybe they shouldn't have taken the deal. But I'm open-minded until I see the series!

I deeply respect Giancarlo's comments on Carano. That was one of the best statements I've heard out of Lucasfilm in a long time, and gave me that much greater respect for the other actors who have said the same thing. It's so encouraging to see these big actors speak their minds and hold to their beliefs in the world we live in and I hope this gives Lucasfilm pause as to their actions of late. Gotta love these crazy Mando actors! :D

JR Eaton

Yeah I really think that’s all it is…just him saying I’m not taking orders from anyone anymore, I’m the boss now…you know what I’m capable of…Unlike Jabba he gets it done himself, earning respect, rather than have lackeys do his dirty work for him

Ben Jamin

That bottom five sound effects was the funniest thing on this show in months. More bottom five lists please!

Rav Vadgama

The other voice in the trailer sounds like Din Djarin

Gotcha. I really hope so, man! That would be boss. And if not...well, we need to get you to write the series! ;)

It is good to see the classics! I can't necessarily fault the ST for doing new creatures, however poorly they may have been received; rather, for not including the classics in favor of the new. Conversely, it'd be nice to see the new mixed with the classics in "Boba," as some of them are actually kinda cool. ;)

I think we can have the Boba we've always known while also showing this cunning side to him to compliment the brutality. A man who lived his life disintegrating his bounties is likely not going to change much--except to rule with the same sort of iron fist. It'll be good to see that added layer--the cunning. It'll be a parallel image, in that way, to Maul as another ruler or the underworld. I think you can have the brutality shown with a fair level of intelligence. Maybe he still looks at all the jobs as coldly as always, but now goes about it in more clever ways or something. More creativity with a fair amount of henchmen under him.

I 100% agree. I put the CC on to see if it named the character but it just said Alien. We’ll see soon if you and I are right :)

Great show guys. I totally agree with the Trailer breakdown. Didn’t show anything and I’m slightly worried about the respect or going legit feel. However, I’m still very excited for the show and Fett is my favorite character. I agree with Jason’s secrecy comment. George said he wanted stuff secret but they had all of those making of shows during the whole production and released a ton of toys in advance. I remember Hayden being on Jay Leno and Jay played with his figure and showed Anakin’s arm falling off. I was so mad that got spoiled for me. As a reminder, ICC con is the last weekend in April not March (4/29-5/1). I hope a ton of Patreon folks can make it. My wife and I will be there.

Star Wars galaxies was a great game! I played from Beta 3 until the servers closed down. Would love to see Bestine.

Blake Weaver

Eric I played SWG from the CU till near closing. I miss that game so much. I played the SWGemu and the other emulator but it wasn’t anywhere near the same experience. I still remember I was on the Tarquinas server.

Eric from Phoenix

Ahazi here. I played on the Emu and had fun with it but real life got in the way :). I did BH in the Emu which I never did in the actual game. I was a Ranger Pistoleer. Not a great combo but I had fun with it. I remember when the game launched and there were no mounts or vehicles in the game. Had to run all the way out to Ft. Tusken and try not to get killed by squills. Lol

Eric from Phoenix

His facial reaction and then he questioned whether they were supposed to show that. Ughh, so disappointed I watched that interview.

Jeff Holland

Great episode (per usual), guys! Loved the fact that you guys talked about Qui-Gon Jinn/Force ghosts, etc. One thing I think you might have forgotten about is Qui-Gon's appearance in the Gendy Clone Wars micro-series (assuming you consider this Canon, which I do.) In Chapter 21, there's a scene with young Anakin and Qui-Gon w/ what looks like the dark side tree on Dagobah. Not exactly sure if this is a Force vision from Yoda (the scene is edited to make it appear that way). I could have sworn Liam voiced Qui-Gon in this chapter, but per IMDB, he was voiced by Fred Tatasciore.
