As fans, we get so wrapped up in the mythology and plot of the STAR WARS saga we often neglect to acknowledge the humor in the series. RFR V.I.P. Jeff Holland returns to lead us through his Top Ten Funniest Moments in Star Wars. Plus, STAR WARS VISIONS, Star Wars music in concert, Korean curse words, and the challenges of having a spouse who doesn’t get Star Wars

Great episode, Jeff. I grew up in Chesapeake and lived in Ghent throughout my 20’s (37 now and live in Richmond). I was at the same Star Wars in Concert at the Scope! My first thought of funniest moment was Malakili (Rancor Keeper). I remember being twelve and my friend and I cracking up at that!

Scott Hanson

Jeff, good list, but you missed one (maybe). How can Poe Dameron’s “Hi, I’m holding for General Hux?” not be on the list??! Lol. 😁

Tyler Page

Solid Chut Chut in this one

Brian Robinson

Loved the Space Giants talk, I watched it everyday after school on TBS. Goldar, Silvar, Gam, Ito, and the villain Rodak! Miko blowing his whistle calling on them to save the universe. Rodak's minions melting when killed always disturbed me.

Looking at the videos on YouTube, it appears to be studs on his uniform in line vertically, but easily mistaken from a chest up shot.

Jeff Holland

Awesome, thanks! Yeah, I know it should be a "sad" moment when the Rancor dies, but seeing the Rancor Keeper cry has always cracked me up. HAHA!

Jeff Holland

That Poe-Hux scene in TLJ, just didn't do it for me (in terms of being funny enough to make my list). It was kinda too real world for me, ya know? And like I said on the podcast, this was my Top 10 List and is very subjective.

Jeff Holland

Coming from one of the Babu Freaks, that is high praise! Thanks! Ha!

Eric from Phoenix

Fun show Jeff. I thought you had a good list. One thing from the Ozell choking scene is the guy sitting at the monitor who looks back at the camera after Ozell is taken away. I don’t remember noticing that in the theater but I laugh at it every time I watch it at home.

Jeff Holland

Thanks! You know something, I don’t think I ever noticed it. Ha! But yeah, that monitor guy looks at Vader and is like “Oh sh*t! I just made eye contact with Vader!” LOL!

Jeff Holland

BTW, the artwork (GL having a good belly laugh) for this episode is hilarious! I feel like this would be his reaction after listening to this episode. 🧔🏻 😆

Joe Dallas

Hey! Great show- Thanks for the shout out man! Hope to meet you sometime!

Jeff Holland

You're welcome! Same here. Won't be able to come to Cali for SWC 2022, but I'm 95% sure that I'll be at the ICCC in Nashville in April/May 2022.

Jeff, man I feel your pain. My fiance could care less about Marvel or Star Wars. She has seen the sequels with me but has no ambition to see the others. She supports my fandom and has gone to celebrations with me but does not have the same kind of enthusiasm for The Wars as I do.

Jeff Holland

Sounds sooooo familiar. :) We RFR members who have significant others who do not share same enthusiasm as we do need to start a support group. LOL!

RobO from ChicagO

Had the same issue, we made a compromise. I would watch the Harry Potter series if she watched the Wars. She liked them and I actually liked the HP movies.

I love the vinyl record idea! I don't collect star wars because for the last 20 years Ive been spending my money on vinyl hah. @jmac I am dedicated to making this happen! Can we connect on this for real? We can use QRates to press and ship, and best yet they are like Kickstarter. The records only go into production if we reach the target number of backers.

Sean W. from Warsaw

Jimmy Mac's fervent passion to get your girl to watch The Wars was hilarious! Gotta admire the effort. Man, to not be able to share those films with your significant other.... I'm one of those blessed my wife was a big fan long before I met her, but we've talked on occasion about how it would be were it otherwise. We both agree that life would be painfully different together. Lol

Sean W. from Warsaw

I think my number one funniest moment has always, always been when Han does that devilish grin right after Luke says he can't see a princess and a guy like Han together. I don't think I've ever failed to die laughing every time!

Sean W. from Warsaw

Dang man. :( Well, at least she'll go with you to stuff! My wife actually really likes everything SW in film and animation, but isn't at all into the books or games or collecting, conventions, etc. I think, though, that she would happily dress up as a character for a special outing, though, like going to the theater to see a new SW film. All the same, even with all that, it always feels maybe a little off to not be able to get into the games and stuff with her. Though, I did get her to sit down once and play the new Battlefront with a friend's wife for like two minutes. She got mowed down by her being Vader. Lol Funniest thing I've seen in gaming to date! Last time she ever gamed. Lol

Eric from Phoenix

My wife is a saint and a great sport. She has been to every North American Celebration except for #2. She is a great fan and has her own unique perspective on Star Wars. I’m so lucky and very undeserving. Can’t wait to see RFR fans at ICC con!

Jeff Holland

Haha, yes gotta admire his effort. It was also funny to hear him refer to my wife as "Lady Holland". :) I'm okay with her not being interested in SW. I'm pretty sure she'll never be persuaded to like/watch it. And that's okay. To be honest, one of the main reasons why I searched out (and found) RFR/The Forcecast is because no one in my life - fam or friends - are as passionate about SW as I am. So, I guess RFR/Patreon is my Star Wars wife! LOL!

Rob Strecker

Actually Jimmy, Leia is the one that kissed Luke, BOTH times.
