Listeners of RFR Q&A are familiar with RFR V.I.P. Jeff Holland and his STAR WARS passion. Jeff was kind enough to share his STAR WARS movie theater ticket stub collection. In these days of iPhones and QR codes, it's fun to look at this collection of memories from seeing STAR WARS where it's meant to be seen, on the silver screen.

I was at the Scope concert! Grew up going to Cinemark in Western Branch and skipped school in 11th grade to see AOTC! VCC, Short Pump, Harbour View, Air & Space Center-been to them all! We’ve crossed paths many times! PS-Do you still travel to Henrico once a week for work? I moved to Varina (east end) last year. Cheers!

Antonio from NJ

love it, I lament like jason does that tickets fade faster now due to printing techniques used. This was always one of my favorite things to do with my dad growing up.

Jeff Holland

Awesome! Yeah, I remember when Cinemark first opened. It was like the fanciest nicest movie theater around. Then of course, it became crappy. Although, they tore it down and Cinemark built a brand new movie theater in the same Chesapeake Sq shopping center area.

Jeff Holland

My favorite IMAX screen is the one at Hampton's Air & Space Museum. So freaking big! I saw AOTC IMAX there. AMAZING!

I don't go to Richmond for work hardly at all since COVID started. I've only been there like 1-2 times in the past 2 years. I've kinda been using COVID as an excuse for me not to go to the office. :) Plus, I get everything done at home.

Looking through my old ticket stubs was a lot of fun! Although, I'm sure I've lost some ticket stubs over the years, because I always watch a SW movie in the theater at least 5-6 times (with the exception of the Last Jedi and the Clone Wars movie). But still, lots of fun going through the ticket stubs. Earliest movie ticket stub I have is from summer 1994. Earliest concert ticket stub is from 1991! My wife calls me a hoarder. I call it "collecting important things efficiently." LOL!

And thanks to JMac for posting this!

I have so many fond memories of the old Cinemark-the 90s Batman films, Jurassic Park, Mortal Kombat, etc. The last time I went there was in 2005, and I had to ask for a refund because the crowd was being terrible. I was able to go to the new Cinemark in 2014 to see Godzilla. Loved Chesapeake Square as a kid. Spent a lot of allowance money at the two KB Toy Stores!

Jeff Holland

Yep. Same. Cinemark in the 1990s was fun, but yeah that mall went downhill FAST. Ah yes, KB toy stores. I spend A LOT of my time in high school at the arcade (back when there were arcades at malls).

FANBOYS!?!!?! Newman!!!!!!!!!!

That’s awesome Jeff! I keep my movie tickets in my Steve Sansweet Star Wars book. I was really happy when Jimmy talked about keeping his stubs and other paper keepsakes several years ago. I thought I was the only one.

Jeff Holland

Great place to keep them! You are not alone. There is another (crazy person who likes to collect movie ticket stubs). LOL!

Eric from Phoenix

Very cool Jeff! I'm amazed the newer tickets are in such good condition. Love seeing the Magic of the Myth ticket. We never got to see that. Not sure why, but i never considered keeping my tickets. Very cool and a fun trip down memory lane.
