Mythology has often pitted soul mates against each other, and we get an example of this in STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER as the Force dyad emerged. RFR V.I.P. Sean Wanty looks into passages from Joseph Campbell to find the foundation for this relationship.  Plus, Sean's recap of THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT, a new book about Han and Leia’s marriage and a look back at the old EU, the story about Carrie Fisher and the BBQ sauce and more!

Can't wait to listen! Once this newborn stops crying...

This is going to be the perfect listen after a long day at work. Thank you!

Really interesting conversation Sean. I liked hearing your thoughts on Book of Boba. While I loved the show and plan to rewatch it soon I 1000% agree with your gripes with it. It’s definitely not what I wanted even though I really liked it. With all your sequel trilogy analysis it really has me thinking about those stories in a way I wish the films themselves made me think as I saw them. Really really loved it as always dude. The idea that the bloodline of the chosen one down the line being part of that dyad blew my mind. It really makes sense. Sean and J-Macs convo shows there’s lots to still be discussed with what we did get with the sequels. Idk if I’ll ever truly accept those films but these convos are like therapy for me lol.

Brian Koehler

Really cool ideas Sean. Agree with Blake that I wish the movies had provoked some of that thought about the dyad but really glad you and Jimmy got to discuss it

I thought I was the only guy who saw the “Bring Back” series! If you haven’t seen them. YouTube this crazy bastard! He also did a great show on “Dallas” & “The A-Team”.

Michael Serrano

Loved listening to this conversation! I really hope they explore these concepts further within the franchise. Thanks Sean!

Joe Dallas

Great conversation- I loved those books so much I named my daughter Jaina!

Trevor Hallam

Dear Lucasfilm. Please hire Mr. Wanty. Stat.

Eric from Phoenix

Deep thoughts with Sean Wanty!! My gosh man, how do you think of all of these deep topics? Crazy deep conversation and I loved all the head canon / possible future ideas you guys discussed. Great discussion as always Sean!

Philip Ehlke

Well that was a fun ride of an episode! See, I knew there were good reasons I liked Rise of Skywalker so much. I’m a fan of weird-ass sci-fi sh*t 🤖

Philip Eighteen

Great episode and a fascinating discussion!

Thanks, man! I once heard someone say about the sequels, Just because we can't always agree on them doesn't mean there isn't anything to talk about. It's been fairly therapeutic for myself doing these. I still don't necessarily know where I stand on accepting them, but I do believe they can be redeemed and the good stuff salvaged. Hence these conversations! I guess it's all one big effort to redeem them, or at least to see if they can be redeemed. I think they can. :)

One of the coolest things Star Wars has always done when firing on all gears is spark the imagination and cause you to wonder and speculate and dig deeper. That there's this level of stuff to find in it, regardless of whether they intended it or not, is encouraging that it's not all bad. Stuff that even feels like something Lucas would do! And I think that deserves respect, even with all the problems folks like even myself have with the films and production teams. Even if good ideas come from the wrong people, they're still good ideas!

Sean W. from Warsaw

Rise of Skywalker definitely has some good stuff worth considering. Easily my favorite of the sequels!

I know the feeling, guys! My wife and I finally got to the point where our son is able to sleep all the way through the night. Hang in there!

Sean W. from Warsaw

Aw man! The Qui-gon stuff didn't get included! Bummer! Jimmy and I were doing these crazy Liam Neeson impersonations for love in SW. It was great! I tried to share this hilarious video of him doing a Cupid rehearsal for Valentine's Day and everything.... Ah well. Lol

RobO from ChicagO

Deep talk Sean W! Was laughing when Jimmy was talking about trying “DIP” for the first time. I remember I was a teen playing outfield in a baseball game. I remember just sweating profusely, getting dizzy and ultimately yacking all over. Never tried it again, lol

Hey, I'm a little behind on asking this, but I'm curious if anyone out there is big into mathematics, biology, and science, and would be able to extrapolate on the concept of the dyad found in such topics. Those references to real world dyads were trippy! It'd be great to learn more. I'm just not well versed in those subjects enough to go digging too deep. But if anyone has any thoughts, it'd be great to learn more!

Toby Mann

Sean thanks for another ripper ep. All the Q&As are tops but yours are singularly profound and take us into very interesting parts of our fave galaxy! Man I can tell you’ve turned your keen mind to some deep thinking on all your topics and gotta say I love when I see your name on the Q&As. So much in there I can only grasp what’s there after a few listens. Thanks bro. Looking forward to the next one.

Jeff Holland

As always Mr Wanty brings the deep thought provoking SW questions to Q&A. Just when you think he’s out of these types of topics/questions/etc, he keeps bringing it! Keep it up!

Rob Strecker

The name Jimmy was looking for was Teneniel Djo, the mother of Tenel Ka. Cracking up at Jimmy's F bomb was funny.
