A replica of Han Solo's famous DL-44 blaster that actually shoots? Hear all about it as Florida musician and RFR V.I.P. Joe Dallas returns to the Q&A! Joe talks about his summer of STAR WARS, including his experiences at Star Wars Celebration, the RFR Rooftop Bash, and local arcade hangouts with fellow RFR listeners. We also look forward to ANDOR, discuss Reva plot holes in OBI-WAN KENOBI, Star Wars names in the family, music and more from the mind of Joe.

Yo Joe! If it's a Joe episode then you know it's gonna be great

Blake Weaver

Thanks for the shout out on this weeks Q&A with my boy Joe! Hope we can get a full blown rfr gang at the game over arcade in Melbourne FL! And all around entertaining episode as it always is.

Joe F-ing Dallas! Hah can't wait

Orange County Carlos

Love me a Joe Dallas show! Also would like to add a bit to that Reva/Grand Inquisitor/impalement; I recall somewhere that dark side/sith fear death, so they do all they can to stay alive. While light side/Jedi tend to accept and welcome death as a natural part of life, so they don’t fear it and let themselves succumb. That’s how I rationalized all that. Anyways, great show!

Joe's the kind of friend you'd love to go grab a beer or two with and just shoot the breeze. That's what his Q&As remind me of. Great job, guys. Another winner.

Joe I had no idea that you were a school band director! That's so cool. Would you ever consider coming on and doing music breakdowns for the sequel trilogy like Oxygen used to do?

Joe Dallas

I’d love to…. Probably don’t have the time in my schedule to do it justice. I’m a HUGE Oxygen fan. I’m obsessed with Anakin’s Theme and it’s upside down Vader Imperial March intervals. I remember coming home from the Phantom Menace and trying to write what I could remember for my ex wife to play on flute. Needless to say every band I’ve taught in almost 30 years played some version of a Star Wars medley. The Obi Wan melody with the ostinato is one of my favorite new things. I don’t have the piano chops of David Collins…. Jimmy and David blazed that trail and I am a big fan.

Always love a Joe Dallas episode! To answer your question about Bryce Dallas Howard, see this article: https://www.alearned.com/ron-howard/ Ron and Cheryl name their child on where they were conceived. Personally TMI, I don’t need a mental picture of Opie getting busy, haha.

Didn't get to finish the ep yesterday but I love that Chick Corea and Maynard Ferguson got name dropped by Joe! Maynard in 2004 and Chick in Return to Forever in 2009 were some of my all time favorite concerts!

Joe Dallas

Thank you! Wow… I had no idea that was why….. how interesting/strange- lol -thanks for sharing that!

Joe Dallas

Just because of Peter Erskine and his daughter- but heck yeah! I met Chick and my college buddy and my dad’s buddy both played with Maynard.

Joe Dallas

And also glad her name wasn’t Bryce Albuquerque Howard…..

Ben P. Stein

Enjoyed the show! Continue to be amazed and impressed by all of the knowledge that Joe and Jimmy have. Thanks for the mention at the end!

Ben P. Stein

Joe, I loved your song at the end of the show!!!

Scott Osterkamp

Joe Dallas I have 2 cruise votes right here!! 😂

Joe Dallas

From your mouth to the RFR Gods ears!! Two votes from me- 4 votes!!!! 🤣

Dylan McGee

Joe Dallas should have his own show! I could listen to him for hours.

Ben Roloff

Joe, we’ve got to connect - I’m also a gigging jazz musician and teacher. Let’s talk more Erskine and form the first RFR Jazz Trio! (any sax players here?)

Joe Dallas

Sweet- where do you live? Add me on Facebook and we can check mutual musician friends. What do you play?

Joe Dallas

A fine addition… lol

Ben Roloff

I’m up in Manitoba, so probably not many mutuals, but we will see! And I’m drums all day!

RobO from ChicagO

Fun episode! Would love a RFR cruise! I use to go on a rock n roll themed cruise every year called Shiprocked, basically a giant rock festival on a boat, was awesome!

Dylan McGee

Likewise! I am the expat equivalent of a "fresh-water conch" living in Japan, so I don't get out to American conventions--let alone all the way out to the Florida Keys! But your guest spots give me a fun view into that world. Thanks for all you do!

Eric from Phoenix

I don't know how but I just noticed the picture for this episode. So awesome! Joe, an Alaska cruise is on our bucket list. I like the idea you threw out to do an RFR cruise :) I'm just like you at at Conventions. I want to get there before it opens and don't want to miss anything. It was awesome meeting you and you're lovely daughter at the Bash. Just wish we would've had more time to talk. Too many great people and not enough time :) Q-Bert is so hard...I have never been good at that game but when Matt from Gilbert and I go to Startfighters Arcade I will try again in your honor. Best quote of the discussion, "brains, it's just squishy stuff". I can't remember what I did yesterday. I can recall Star Wars and other Pop Culture stuff that isn't important but can't remember the important stuff. I would love to see Moroff get some screen time, thought he looked cool!

Pistol Pete

The joe Dallas RFR cruise. Might be willing to step off land for that!

Jeff Holland

Great show Joe and JMac! Always love listening to you two shoot the shit about The Wars.
