The Pitfalls of STAR WARS Nostalgia

Nostalgia can be a funny thing. Sometimes, re-experiencing something you've known since youth can keep old feelings vibrant. Sometimes, the memories outshine the actual experience and it doesn't live up to expectations. As STAR WARS fans, we consume the new content in many different ways and much of it is dependant on our nostalgia for the saga. Such is the challenge of maintaining the integrity of a 45 year old franchise while still creating fresh and compelling content. Does nostalgia hurt STAR WARS?  And where do we go from here? RFR V.I.P. Peter Beisser is back on the Q&A to present his take!

Peter great conversation with JMac! I’m 43 and you brought it with excellent points on nostalgia. Liked me some He-Man, voltron and the like, but Jedi was what I remember. My dad took me and my older brother to see it, and I just remembered Leia in the bikini… wrong at 3? Anyway great points on generational/ collector behavior. Cheers buddy!
