Rise 'n Shine with the RFR EARLY BIRD!

Since George Lucas first put pencil to paper, STAR WARS storytelling has always had it’s foundations steeped in the magic of myth and it continues in the stories being told today. Our own “Jedi Yogi” John Marcoux is back to break down the latest season of THE MANDALORIAN as seen thru his knowledge of ancient legend, myth, and storytelling across a varied spectrum of historic perspectives. Was Din the main Mandalorian in season 3? John gives us the lowdown! Along with heavy analysis of The Mythosaur, Bo Katan’s journey, and The Darksaber. We hit the road with Daniel Logan! Listen to the full report of our wacky weekend road trip with the "Attack of the Clones" superstar! Will Temuera Morrison appear as Capt. Rex in AHSOKA? We look for clues! Plus, Keanu Reeves joins THE ACOLYTE, STAR WARS collectible news fresh from San Diego Comic Con, and “Mandoween” is coming.

I just wanted to be the first to post. 😜 Just got off work and was listening to rebels re-watch Q and A. Can't wait to give this a listen! Happy Friday star wars fam. Mtfbwy

Was able to get 10 minutes in while walking the dog before work. I love that something from The Holiday Special is getting an official release but I wish it was in the retro style. Would seem more fitting. Looking forward to listening to the rest of the show tomorrow!

Cool to get a sneak peek at Jimmy's SW room on the video feed. (And let's go Spider Plays. Give Parker Swank some views! 🤟)

Great listening and watching today! Love listening to Paul's insights as well as getting sneak peeks of Jimmy's time with Daniel. Also, great hearing plugs for the spawns of the guys!

Always great to have John on the show; feels like he’s giving a sermon and I am a devout follower. Such good insights and gives me a better appreciation of the season with that perspective! As for the listener feedback, I wonder if they’ll start Ahsoka like they started Kenobi, with a flashback. It would be interesting if they did that in animation, since that’s where Ahsoka was until Mando, although I’d love to see some of those scenes in the live action format. BUT! If I have to watch the ending of the clone wars once more, with the emotional ‘bury the dead’ track, I will be suing Dave filoni for emotional damages.

John is him.

Brian Robinson

Keanu and Carrie-Anne Moss already reunited in 2021 for "The Matrix Resurrections", so this may have just been a coincidence. Great show!

Turtle Wars

Interesting insights and discussions. I have to admit though, my favorite part of this episode was getting a little peek at Jimmy’s collection and how some of it is displayed.

2023-07-30 23:26:02 Great discussion! I loved the Daniel Logan commercial and how the cost was $1,138. I also loved getting a sneak peak of Jimmy’s collection. Can’t wait for when he does the official debut. The tax I sent I’ve discussion was interesting. I think for Mando they get credits from Canada or New Zealand? Maybe I’m thinking of Avengers Endgame? Not sure but I remember seeing it and questioning how they would even get that credit since I didn’t think they filmed there. Great insight from John.

My fandom originally comes from a place of strong attachment and borderline obsession, but Marcoux is taking an approach that is very much the opposite of that, and is ultimately what I aspire toward as a fan (and is actually Jedi-like). And the kicker is that the more measured, contemplative approach to the material that he takes doesn’t in any way detract from his appreciation of it; it greatly enhances it. It’s the power to restore entire communities vs. merely servicing the individual.

I love it when Marcoux is on, great perspective, from Samurai codes to ancient Rome to the Indian vedas, he’s bringing the spiritual kitchen sink! Now I have to do a Mando season 3 rewatch too

Man, Marcoux really brought some great insight. Inspiring me to do a rewatch, like others have said.

Hey, is it too much to ask if we could get a series of episodes of just Marcoux's breakdowns, for all that he's done? Just to have them all in one place for ease of reference? I know the guys are already busy like crazy, but I figured it couldn't hurt to ask, at least. This guy is one of those gentlemen I wanna listen to on its own on the fly! (Plus I could more easily swap some of his lines for sophisticated cocktail parties.... :P)
