Beer pairs well with many things, but have you ever considered a pairing with the STAR WARS streaming series on Disney+? RFR VIP Peter Beisser is back and the bar is open as he pairs craft beer from the Pennsylvania region with each of the STAR WARS streaming shows: THE MANDALORIAN, THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT, OBI-WAN KENOBI, and ANDOR.

Oh yes! They gotta keep making Star Wars content just so this series can keep going. Peter rocks!

Eric from Phoenix

Wait, four hours??? New record and impressive drink / bladder control. This will take me a lot of yard work to get through this. Going to need a lot of sunscreen :)

Orange County Carlos

Wait a minute.... HOLY HECK 4 HOURS?! This is going to last all night?! AWESOME.

Luke

4 hours idk if we should alert the authorities or call poison control!

Orange County Carlos

1.5 hours in. So funny JMac mentions Dark Empire as I just got done doing a read through this morning and currently listening to the audio drama in the car, as I take a pause in my reread of the NJA book.

Javier Solorzano

4 hours?....lordy! Extra support will be needed when I place this behemoth on my RFR Podcast shelf. This is an embarrassment of riches. Thanks, JMac and Peter

Javier Solorzano

Wait, wait, how was this even possible? JMac, did you use a catheter to make it through the 4 hours?

Kirk Leppert

The longest RFR episode ever!!!! Amazing!!!

Joe Dallas

Amazing show and hang.

Kyle Burress

I loved listening to the newest beer pairing, especially while cleaning kegs at work. Great conversation and sounds like more delicious beer. Definitely want to try I Love Lamp! Great job guys!

2023-08-17 17:03:16 Thanks for the kind words, all. Listen, four hours is a lot. I totally get it. But give it a shot if you’ve got some time and love a good hangout filled with SW talk. Even if you don’t like beer. It was a wild adventure with great energy. I had an absolute blast. A magical conversation.

4 hours?!? 😆

I found the Obi-Wan Kenobi pee break funny because Jimmy is relieving himself while Old Ben is saying things like "I'm getting too old for this sort of thing" and "He can go about his business".

Eric from Phoenix

Wow, what a fun conversation! I think you need to include the two Ewok movies and the Holiday Special. Only rule is you have to watch all three again before you record :). Stick shoe? I love it. Would never happen today due to cell phones or someone’s feelings getting hurt. We had a game called Annie Annie over where you threw a tennis ball over a garage. Only one player on each side and you didn’t know where the ball was going to come from and you had to catch it. Now that I typed this out it doesn’t sound as fun…There were probably others but I can’t remember them now. Peter has phenomenal hair. No question. However, I’m a little disappointed Jimmy hasn’t commented on my hair. Oh wait, I don’t have much left… Would love to try I Love Lamp but looks like I can’t get it in AZ. I can get the Dogfish ale and will be picking some of that up this weekend. Jurassic Park 3 is underrated in my opinion. Heck of a lot of fun! Thanks for the kind comments at the end. Peter and Meg are just the nicest people, only wish Andrea could’ve been there to meet them. I think we only “talked the Wars” for probably 15 minutes each time.

Joe

4 hours... and I could have still listened to more :P Thanks again for this great pairing (in more ways that one!).

Ryan Parker

Jimmy talking about the Minutemen was a highlight for me!

Dale Morris

Great conversation, finished this one up today. Made driving around for work go much smoother with a great conversation about beer and the Wars! I think it could have actually on gone longer talking more about Andor. As far as your question "did anyone ever make a Boba beer for Jeremy?" Well of course I know him, he's me. Chris's label was cool, but not what I had in mind after hearing that episode. I made my label in a Sam Adams style as that is what Mr. Bulloch mentioned he liked for American beers. I presented him with the beer after a dinner with a group of local Star Wars fans when him and his wife were in town for Denver Comic-Con. I don't believe he went to the next Celebration (Anaheim?), but I printed an extra label and gave to Steve Sansweet since he likes to have fan-made items in Rancho Obi-Wan. I don't know that we can post pics here, so I'll put some on the FB page.

This is making me thirsty

Eric from Phoenix

I was able to find the Dogfish one at my grocery store today. Going to sample it while grilling tonight.

MDM1138

Killed half a day at work with this one fellas. Keep up the phenomenal work. More pairings to be had!

Eric from Phoenix

Have to say, not bad. Very unique beer. It says it’s a sour but it really isn’t a sour. Glad Peter got me to try it.

Chris Sorrentino

I’d LOVE to join on the next one haha 🍻

RobO from ChicagO

Fun hang guys, you guys got great chemistry, the 4 hours flew by. 1) Join my boycott of Jerry Reinsdorf Jimmy 2) I also enjoy the Kai Patterson Obi Wan cut, it’s not perfect by any means but I think it definitely showcases that there is a solid story there that would have been better off as a movie, he recently released a Boba Fett cut as well, I have been meaning to give that a watch since I was very disappointed with the show on first viewing.

The yeasty boys are back!! I was so shocked when I looked at the run time for this podcast after I’d downloaded it - definitely a record! Worth every minute, even if a lot of those minutes were spent on a wild bantha chase of Jmacs tangents. There’s really no stopping this series continuing! You could do animation, comics, books (I’d love to see a paring based on the thrawn eu trilogy), games! Love the idea and great execution Peter!

Marty of Georgia

Great episode. I did my own drinking while watching y’all. Great job. Made me want a beer

Todd “Suds” Sedlacek

You would think with a nickname like Suds that I would’ve come up with this idea but I guarantee you I would not have done it as much justice as Pete has. I travel to PA for work a few times a year and I fly into PHL - next time I’m out there I would love to try some of these brews with ya! 2 other comments - 1. Rather than a beer, I feel Malort would be a good pairing with Resistance. 2. Blue Moon is definitely a breakfast beer - whenever I’ve been to a brunch that offers “beermosas” it is always Blue Moon. 😎

Peter Beisser

Give a shout when you fly into Philly, Suds. Be glad to throw a few back with ya!

Eric from Phoenix

Malort - on my bucket list. Peter is a great hang and hopefully you guys can get this worked out.

Brian Robinson

You wouldn’t believe where I’ve been while listening to this episode. I’ve covered some ground.

Well it took two days to polish off this marathon, great hang gentlemen, thanks for letting us come along for the ride!

Turtle Wars

I finally finished this one after multiple drives to town over the past week. I had a comment or two while listening, but didn’t write it down and have since forgotten what I wanted to say. But it was an epic hang and a great listen the entire 4 hours! Now on to the latest Joe Dallas Q&A.

Greg from New Jersey

Took a while, but finishing was worth it! Loved the episode, especially the shout outs to local beer (Double Nickel). I’m just over the bridge, so I would love to see a Philadelphia area hang.

J. Robert Cipriano

Took me a week of daily commutes but I made it through! Very fun time listening to this!

Alex Doud

I heard about the Patterson Cut on the show and went out and found it but then I saw the Boba Fett one and was definitely intrigued! I just finished Book 1 of his Boba Fett cut and I really liked it. I will try and keep this spoiler free but I thought it was a great retelling and the way he cut stuff in was great. I think there a little too much inserted but again trying to keep this spoiler free :) I started Book II and looking forward to that.

Alex Doud

4 hrs! OMG. I just finished the 2nd one with the Sequels, TCW, R1, and Solo. Was wondering if anyone has compiled a list or spreadsheet of movies to beer? I might have to put that together :)
