In 1977, Benny Goodman music from 40 years prior was reimagined as music for The Cantina Band. What music from the last 40 years would fit into the STAR WARS universe today? RFR V.I.P Jamie Bruno presents us with that question and we discuss, along with a few facts about STAR WARS and Van Halen. We also talk about when a kid establishes his or her own musical identity, along with discovery of The Beatles. We talk AHSOKA and the mysteries surrounding some of the characters' motivations, we also dive into  the many ways of interpreting The Force and one's relationship to it. Plus, looking back at THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT and we review DC’s THE FLASH.

Another fun episode of the Q&A! Well done! Additionally, I agree with Jimmy when it comes to the Flash movie. It was good! I’d recommend it. Saw it in theaters and via streaming once more

Great listen! I loved The Flash, too! Being born in 84’, Keaton/Burton Batman was my Star Wars. I saw it three times over the summer!

Peter Beisser

Good stuff, Jamie. Fun episode.

I didn't love The Flash, but it wasn't terrible. Flash/Ezra Miller and the reason for using the multiverse were the most annoying parts of the movie. The opening 10min and last 25min action sequences were worth the price of admission. Peacemaker may be the best thing to come out of the last 15 years of the DCU.

I've read all those Greg Renoff Van Halen books as well. Always good stuff and I saw he posted about the Don Landee interview, but I haven't read it yet.

Is the riff from max reebo band that is in the RFR intro music not electric guitar? OG trilogy electric guitar rockin in ROTJ right?

Josh Carter

Peacemaker was surprisingly good. I did not expect to enjoy it, just wanted to check it out, and couldn't stop watching. It even converted me into a Cena fan.

Leave Ehrenreich alone. The Flash was good. I don't expect Ahsoka show to tell every little morsel of meet-up & training between her & Sabine or the time frame of Ahsoka time after Rebels and before her show. Just to name a few. It would be nice to see, though. But, not enough time in a tv show. If the show have 25 episodes. Then, everything is on the table. But, Hollywood are doing short form of telling stories in less than previous iterations. There are few shows on tv or streaming services that have 20 or more episodes.

It’s sad that we can’t get 29 episodes, each 55 minutes long like the early Star Trek TV series.

Give Mammoth WVH a listen, it’s Eddie Van Halen’s son’s band, very old school rock vibes. His son does all the instrumental and vocals

Great discussion guys! I loved the radio dramas and though a New Hope was the best one. The Alderann scenes at the beginning were fantastic plus the Biggs stuff. Awesome how they filled in what we didn’t see on screen. I really liked the beginning in Empire where it focuses in on the listening station or X-Wings that get attacked by the Empire when they head to Hoth. My memory isn’t perfect but I know I liked it. I thoroughly enjoy the BondCast episodes too. The License to Kill discussion has motivated me to watch it again. I haven’t seen it since I saw it in the theater. I didn’t like it when I originally saw it.

The last show I enjoyed that was mostly 20 plus episodes over 10 seasons was The Blacklist.

Thanks for the EVH Trooper shout out. That was me Jimmy! Van Halen and Star Wars are two of the greatest things ever!

Brian Robinson

I’ve enjoyed everything he’s done so far. We saw them open for Guns n Roses.

Great episode! I was also so happy to hear the review of the Flash, spot on! A buddy and I saw it at a free preview screening - absolutely loved it. I was so confused at the reception and reviews, I guess people are just fatigued of the genre as you said.

Jamie Bruno

Me too! That’s the power of James Gunn, excellent writing with material you’d never expect to work

RobO from ChicagO

Yeah they sound good live, really respect bands that sound like their studio album live without using backing tracks.

RobO from ChicagO

Ditto with everything you said. I understand the backlash to the actor for his actions in the real world, but as far as a movie goes I was entertained the entire time and thought his acting was pretty damn good.

Thoroughly enjoyed Peacemaker, I submitted a Star Wars in Pop Culture reference from the show to RFR but it didn’t get played due to the language/dialogue 😂🤣
