This took a bit longer than I'd expected, but I was trying new things. Shading this time, I did via merged layers, instead of playing around with multiply and overlay layers. I liked being able to just choose the color, instead of relying on maths to give me the colors I want. I enjoyed it, and I look forward to getting better at my colors and values!

Hope you're all having a wonderful week! ^^

I started doing that too recently (well I say "recently"... a few years ago, haha) and it really speed up my workflow too. And you've still got the blend layers too if you need them. Often I'll do a shading and highlighting pass directly on the base color layers, then add a multiply layer if I need to push the darks or I want to add a little saturation at the shadow transition easily. But since you've got fewer blend layers overall, the layer stack is much easier to navigate x)

This looks super good. The coloring looks amazing! This looks like you had a lot of fun creating this.

You draw such good fluids, it's insane!

Yeah, at the moment I'm doing multiply first for the shadows. Then I flatten it out and go! When it gets so complicated, it can be hard to just make an adjustment I want to make quickly! I get pretty good results when I do it too, some of my favorite pictures are the ones I did this way. ^^

Thanks, Drake! :D I had a lot of fun with this one, onomatopes are super interesting to design, something I don't noramlly do. Now I get it. 8}

Thanks Bombird! :D Usually when I draw I'll do the characters first (sketches, lines, flats, shading), then the fluids on top in their own folder. This time I eliminated the distinction between the two, and I think it results in a piece with a fun energy. ^^

I know it might sound silly to analyse it too much, but... you added so much perspective, motion dynamics AND different viscosities, with the extra, superbly stylised text... yeah, it's impressive, to say the least! I just recently started drawing those fun fluids and woaaaah NSFW artists deserve more praise for those visual effects. The way you draw it is inspiring!
