Summertime Nostalgia (WIP) (Patreon)

I'm always a bit reluctant to post WIP's in my feed, but sometimes a WIP can have a different effect than the finished product, so here it is so far. I mainly wanted to capture a mood with this piece, a sense of nostalgia with a monochromatic palette, using that warm late afternoon summer sun at golden hour.

I do realize there might be some Calvin and Hobbes -esque nods to this piece, but that's certainly not a bad thing! When I get going on a piece like this, if lighting is my concern, I work quickly to capture what I'm seeing in my head. Once I feel I captured the "feel" and "mood"... I'll go back and render/refine the crap out of it.

This is probably 50% done. There are TONS of details and fixes that have to be put in. As the critical artist himself, it's littered with issues that will all need to be cleaned up, but that's the process I guess. :)

I'll post back when this is polished up. Then you can see the WIP and Final. :D
