I’m in a straight marriage and was diagnosed with advanced cancer and given a short timeline (I later got into clinical trial and am doing relatively well years later)….my husband and I spent a lot of time talking about how important it was to me that he find someone else to be happy with, especially since we had young children. We personally would never have sought anyone out because we were very protective of the time we had with each other and I trusted him to find his own person after I was gone…the Ashley and Shane thing is definitely unusual.

I think the “Sherwood’s” Shane & Ashley ( are those the right names?) are seeking a sister wife so that when Shane dies Ashley has someone to grieve with who also knew him. I lost my sister in 2020 (unalived herself). My husband and sister were best friends. We 3 were thick as thieves. My grieving process has been a lot easier having someone in house who knew her and loved her as much as I do/did.
