I didn’t write a thesis on Maugham, but “The Razor’s Edge” is a great book! Set in 1920s U.S. I actually prefer it over The Great Gatsby. Maugham is English though I definitely get how the name sounds southern. His best novel is “Of Human Bondage”. (Not *that* kind of bondage though, sorry Poodle 🤣)

Totally agree! Brian weaponizing his disability (I don’t say this lightly) was sickening to watch. His gaslighting with fake tears “I don’t hate you.” ICK! He was trying to manipulate her into saying it back so he could retcon his public image. He is disgusting- and dangerous. I felt physically ill during his segments this week.

When I was younger, I used to watch a program that would feature Somerset Maugham’s short stories, acted out in black & white. One of my favorites was “Mr. Know-All.” His stories always had a message, and this one was so good.

I’m hoping Brian’s sister and daughter come for him at the tell all. They’ll be sympathetic and no where near mean enough but his daughter lectured him on the way to the airport and his sister told him some women are less comfortable with receiving oral than piv sex when he was going off on Ingrid

Nobody is saying it, but that tattoo looks absolutely awful. It looks like smeared watercolor. Brian astounds me with trying to play a sad and lonely guy that is being discriminated against when he’s just a nasty lying perv with a fetish for Brazilian women. Finally, Poodle’s story of his mom’s desk and Mattie’s laughter in response had me cracking up!
