Ashley calling the police was completely fucked up and out of line. I don’t care what Jay did. Police have killed young black men, and she called them at night. If you call the police on a black man at night, you are completely putting their life in the hands of whichever officers happen to show up. Police have killed black people for a lot less, and even though cameras were there, Ashley is lucky that nothing worse happened to him. Especially if you’re going to give credit to Ashley for having awareness of racism…Ashley was so enraged that I do think she’d have called the police even if this had been AFTER George Floyd. She’s too stupid and wanting to punish Jay that she wouldn’t have even thought of it.

Our neighbors had the same issue with a Blue Jay. We could hear it from our house. It was so annoying. They hung a CD in their window, shiny side out. Not sure why that works but it did.

Omg Poodz, my parents had a cardinal who was obsessed with his own reflection! He either was all over the window that looked into the mirrored China cabinet or the side mirrors on my dad’s car (we had to cover the car mirrors if the car was out of the garage). Also, my dad’s relationship with birds is pretty much the same as Mattie’s. This went on for a few years, so tell Mother P to buckle up!

Matty I agree and call B.S. on Andre’s thing of “in my country birth is between the husband and wife.” I think he’s talking out of his ass 😂. Husbands are notoriously useless in delivery rooms. Mine was so traumatized by the experience we both agreed “never again”. I’ll have a doula and midwife thanks, leave it to the professional women.

I think there's a lot of us with boomer parents whose dads have never once changed a diaper or been involved in any of the childrearing, let alone the birth of their child. So we are accustomed to the women taking care of each other and no examples of involved fathers. When you have a partner who is completely involved and accepting of the birthing parent, it changes the dynamic and makes the decision of who is in the birthing room more difficult. Not to say Andre is the perfect doting partner by any means, but him wanting to be fully involved in the birth plan would likely make the decision of who accompanies Libby even tougher.
