Umm, ok? I just used KK for reference purposes since it’s something a lot of people might not be familiar with and that’s one celebrity who came up in my Google search. Notice that I said “worn by” and not “started by” KK. Personally, I don’t think it’s a good look no matter who wears it, so I really don’t care who started it or who’s carrying it on as a fashion trend. I don’t know - I still think there’s hope for Kerok if he’ll get some therapy. I think he has some odd notions of masculinity (smarter than women, the one who takes care of everything, never out of control) and when he’s dealing with Bri, those come out in full force. She needs therapy, too. It’s great that they have a supportive church but they need some additional help. They’re also fairly young - even more so based on the stunted emotional development that prison causes.

I agree with Mattie about Kerok & B. I’m rooting for them so hard. They both seem like good people and really love each other- they just both need individual therapy. AND time to adjust outside of prison, that’s huge on its own. I just love them and want them to work😩. Edit to say- I don’t know anything about hormone therapy for trans men- but is that something that could have an affect on his attitude or personality? My best friend is a trans woman and sometimes talks about the ‘mones monin’, so I just wonder if that’s something he’s adjusting to as well.

I’m currently getting divorced from a covert narcissist. The way Brittany goes “from zero to 100” is very reminiscent to me of my own reactions to my husband. You have a lot of internal resentment and are also very easily triggered by any kind of criticism, so I think Brittany is reacting as any other victim of a covert narcissist would do. I’m not trying to diagnose Kerok but his lack of empathy and invalidation of B’s emotions triggers the shit out of me. He will never be a good partner for her 🤷‍♀️

Okay, my family is Episcopalian and during my sister’s funeral we were doing the Nicene creed. Everyone in the service was reading the words and about 5% (the only Episcopalians in the room) said “I believe in one holy, catholic and apostolic church” I could see some of her close friends side eyeing each other like “I’m not Catholic. I wouldn’t say it’s “silly”. Black women have had decades of not getting credit for things that have lived in their culture that other people are just “learning” and think we invented. Not a fault for someone who has no idea it was happening. Believe me. I’ve done it many times. But it can be triggering to a black person who deals with it constantly. And gurl, believe me, gay men have being doing it for decades! I’ve participated in that without even knowing it. Yes we’re a comedy show but sometimes things like this pop up that are actually important to others. Especially in LALU where black culture is prominent and we are two gay white men talking about it. It normally is fine but we have said shit and, gracefully, some POC sissies come to correct. We love that. I’ve found when it doesn’t really matter in my life and and a POC corrects me, I find a head nod and a “got it” go over best. Because at the end of the day, it affects them more than it probably does me. -Mattie

I’m so glad that Taylor broke it off for good with Chance. He’s always skeeved me out and I tried to dismiss it to give him a chance, but turns out, my gut was right. He lacks boundaries, lies constantly and must’ve sensed desperation in Taylor. Not sure how he “charms” people. Also don’t think he’s that great of an actor. Everything he says feels like chaos to me.

Thanks so much, Mattie. The initial response to my post really caught me off guard because I am a Black woman and I didn’t realize that it would strike a nerve like it did. The KK reference was totally innocent and was meant purely for context only. I’m in my early 50s, so I am very familiar with how we have created many beauty trends and other things that we have not received proper credit for. Being a little “older” and out of the loop on many current fashion trends, I didn’t even know what a “waist trainer” was until I heard about it at the beauty shop maybe 2 years ago and I really had no idea that it might be something that our community started. But, this is why I love you guys so much. You have brought together so many people from different backgrounds and experiences, simply through our shared love of trash TV, which is just awesome. It is! Clint from one of the early seasons stole a Little Debbie truck,& crashed it into a storage unit! During his season, I had to pass through their town (Hobbs, NM) on a road trip to Santa Fe,& I went into his parents’ butcher shop/deli, dragging my very reluctant husband along. The Goddess Tracy was still alive at the time (RIP)

Agree with Poodle on the Britt/Kerok take. I think Britt has to immediately escalate and raise her voice for Kerok to take her seriously or acknowledge her feelings. Her behavior is learned due to him discounting her feelings or not validating her.
