Note: the Starburst Dress was a limited time bonus offer for first month subscribers. If you subscribed to my Patreon during February 2020, you would have received the pattern and video files via email on March 2nd. Thank you so much for being a subscriber from the very start! ❤️

Want to use a directional print for your Starburst Dress, like this cute heart print that Melisha bought? Here's how to change the grainlines so all your hearts go in the same direction!

Please watch the video here: https://youtu.be/XMiXzkieZI8

A couple notes:

1. You'll need to repeat this process on all skirt pattern pieces, including the lower gores.

2. I did a quick test of the layout for this approach, and it turns out you may need slightly more of your lower gore fabric (which contradicts my speculation at the end of the video, whoops!). I would suggest adding another 1/2 yard to your cart when shopping to be safe. You'll be fine with the same amount for your upper gores.

3. Please remember that ALL our Patreon videos have captioning; just click the CC icon in the lower right corner of the screen to use the caption feature.

Hope this is helpful!

This is an old post so I hope someone sees this... I do not like having bare upper arms and was wondering the best top to put with this Starburst skirt pattern. I was thinking of the Rita blouse with the Bishop sleeve expansion. Thoughts?

Hey Melissa, the starburst dress goes with all Lamour bodices. One option is the bodice sash and shoulder drape. To modify it, instead of doing the drape down the back , attach the shoulder piece to the bodice and do the same on the other side.
