OC - Saya-Mel Torazo (Patreon)

FR- Une nouvelle présentation de personnage secondaire, Saya-Mel Torazo.

Puisqu'elle accompagnera Lola dans l'histoire/bande-dessinée que je souhaite réaliser, je devais travailler sa propre histoire. C'est difficile de résumer car bien que ce soit un personnage secondaire, elle a une route plutôt difficile, une fois l'adolescence passée...

Saya-Mel, en humaine, serait d'origine italienne. Elle vit une jeunesse plutôt normal malgré le rythme de vie de sa famille. Car tout comme Lola, les parents de Saya-Mel sont très pauvre mais sont aussi très fiers. Ils travaillent forts pour que leurs enfants ne manquent de rien et refusent de travailler pour les différents gangs de rues/mafia de la ville. Saya-Mel a une grande sœur de 10 ans son ainée, Mezani, ainsi qu'un frère 5 ans son ainé, Jack. Ironiquement, c'est elle la plus grande de la fratrie, avec un bon 6 pieds 1 pouces. Très élancée, elle n'a pas une santé à toute épreuve et ne fait rien pour s'aider non plus.

Tout comme Lola, Saya-Mel rêve de sortir de cet univers de pauvreté. Cela dit, rien n'est plus difficile pour elle. Si Mezani a su s'éprendre du chef de mafia de son secteur de la ville et que son frère Jack travaille aussi pour celui-ci en travaillant sur le secteur de la contrebande de drogue, Saya-Mel tant qu'à elle refuse d'entrer dans cet univers. Tout comme ses parents, elle ne veut rien savoir de ce monde et tentera d'autres avenues pour ce sortir de la pauvreté. Malheureusement pour elle, Saya-Mel n'aime pas l'école et peine à réussir ses études. Si Lola l'aide du mieux qu'elle le peut, elle se rend vite à l'évidence qu'elle ne pourra pas tenir son amie par la main toute sa vie.

Pendant que Lola avance dans ses études et qu'elle travaille à accumuler l'argent nécéssaire pour ses formations et son futur appartement, Saya-Mel peine à finir l'école et enchaine les emplois simples sans jamais parvenir à en conserver un longtemps. Tranquillement, elle tombe dans la cigarette, la drogue, l'alcool et se fou de son alimentation. Lola la voit se détruire à petit feu et tente de la raisonner mais Saya-Mel ayant une bonne tête de cochon, elle ne veut rien entendre.

Saya-Mel ne prendra conscience de son état que 2 ans plus tard, en se réveillant à l’hôpital, dû à une cirrhose du foie. C'est Raphael, jeune pompier en devenir, qui la trouve et appelle l'ambulance. Il vient la voir souvent à l’hôpital pour s'assurer qu'elle va bien. À force de se voir et de se parler, ils développeront une forte amitié.*

Sans être prête à tout changer, cette visite à l'hopital lui fera décider de retourner sur les bancs d'école pour avoir son diplôme. Elle deviendra travailleuse de rue, pour aider les jeunes au prises avec le même genre de difficulté qu'elle a pu avoir.

* Je travaille encore comment, et à quelle âge exactement ils se rencontrent. Je sais seulement que le point de rencontre est que Raphaël la 'sauve'. Mais j'hésite sur l'ordre chronologique.

EN- EN- A new secondary character presentation, Saya-Mel Torazo.

Since she will be accompanying Lola in the story/comic strip I want to make, I had to work on her own story. It's hard to summarize because although she is a secondary character, she has a rather difficult road, once past adolescence...

Saya-Mel, in human, would be of Italian origin. She lives a rather normal youth despite the rhythm of life of her family. Because just like Lola, Saya-Mel's parents are very poor but are also very proud. They work hard so that their children lack nothing and refuse to work for the various street gangs/mafia in the city. She has a big sister 10 years her senior, Mezani, as well as a brother 5 years her senior, Jack. Ironically, she's the tallest of the siblings, at a whopping 6-foot-1. Very slender, she does not have foolproof health but does nothing to help herself either.

Like Lola, Saya-Mel dreams of escaping this world of poverty. That said, nothing is more difficult for her. While Mezani has fallen in love with the mafia boss in her part of town, and her brother Jack also works for him in the drug-smuggling business, Saya-Mel refuses to enter this world. Like her parents, she wants nothing to do with this world and will try other avenues to escape poverty. Unfortunately for her, Saya-Mel doesn't like school and struggles to succeed. Although Lola helps her as best she can, she soon realizes that she won't be able to hold her friend by the hand for the rest of her life.

While Lola advances in her studies and works to accumulate the money needed for her training and future apartment, Saya-Mel struggles to finish school and works at a series of menial jobs without ever managing to hold onto one for long. Quietly, she falls into cigarettes, drugs, alcohol and doesn't care what she eats. Lola sees her slowly destroying herself and tries to reason with her, but Saya-Mel is a pig-headed girl and won't listen.

Saya-Mel didn't become aware of her condition until 2 years later, when she woke up in hospital with cirrhosis of the liver. It was Raphael, a young aspiring firefighter, who found her and called the ambulance. He visits her often at the hospital to make sure she's all right. The more they see and talk to each other, the stronger their friendship becomes.

Without being ready to change everything, this visit to the hospital will make her decide to go back to school to get her diploma. She will become a street worker, to help young people struggling with the same kind of difficulty that she may have had.

* I'm still working out how, and at exactly what age they meet. I only know that the meeting point is that Raphael 'saves' her. But I'm hesitant about the chronological order.
