Going by the current cannon where an Asari can mate with any species and provide a offspring from that ability during their cycles can provide the necessary headway for alternative universe situations to fall in to place, same goes for Miri's being able to be pregnant as well since cannon universe she's unable to get pregnant and if science is anything to be meddling in (her Father for example) you can't make a fully functional female body with male DNA only and then alter the chromosome to a specification... she may live longer, but it's the cost of having offspring that is targeted as the negative. o/ i think too much... @_@
