So this is a video I had in the hopper for a while, and since I have two HUGE videos in the works and IDENTITEAZE is about to film, I'm releasing it now with a few updates to give me some time to work on stuff. I hope you all enjoy it <3 Also, a small note. The PATREON RAP at the end is the one for August. I'll be filming a September version soon, so I apologize if you joined in September. Your name WILL be in the full live release on YouTube in a week <3.

You often hear the phrase "trans women are biological males" thrown around, mainly by those trying to discriminate against trans people. But aren't trans people really just biologically male? Isn't that "the whole point of being trans," as some people say? Even trans-supportive people seem to agree on this point. Or, is it, as anti-trans people argue, that trans people do not understand biology? Or is it much more complex than that? Hint: It's more complex. So here's a video explaining why no trans women are NOT, in fact, "biological males" and what that means for our understanding of biology.

Thank you for offering your own face as a comparison tool. And although the harry potter reference has some crap attached to it in the current social climate, It works so darn well here! What makes us who we are is our choices. People's bodies, faith, and personalities ... etc shift and change over years but the choices we make become permanent static parts of our history the moment we make each one. Everyone (whether they notice it or not) uses the choices they have made to define parts of who they are. Since those historical choices are fixed in place they can act as anchors providing our identities with much needed stability. wonderful insights here in this video. I will be using some of this info today when talking to my wife's parents about me.

Back in the 1970's when I was in (the UK equivalent of) "Middle school", the Biology textbook that we were issued had a section on sex. This explained that that "biological sex" is a spectrum from male to female, and was illustrated with photos of naked bodies (with blacked out faces). I remember reading this and thinking "So sex isn't just male and female, but a whole spectrum. Cool!". In some ways we were much more progressive back then: toys were not segregated into boys (blue and black) and girls (pink and sparkly) but Lego, Meccano etc. had boys and girls playing together on the box lid. We had "unisex" clothing and "unisex" hair salons. There was still a lot of racism and sexism, but most people thought that these things were *bad* and should be got rid of, and society was generally moving in the right (progressive) direction. Unlike today, were we seem to be moving in the wrong direction.
