A Couple Tiers are Changing! (Patreon)

Hey y'all!

So, you might've seen my journal already about price changes for commissions moving forward (if not, its here: https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/10096179/ ). In it, I mention some changes for Patreon tiers! So, here's some further details on that:

The "Acolyte" and "Hierophant" tiers, $70 and $130 respectively (or, the monthly comm tokens tiers) were always priced relative to my current commission rates, simply. As the prices for Linework and Shaded pieces are changing, these two tiers as well will have the price going up. The Enthralled tier, AKA the slavestream tier, will be unaffected as stream pricing remains unchanged. To match the price changes, "Acolyte" will now be $90, and "Hierophant" will be $170. If you don't know what this token business is, I'll explain it briefly later in this post.

Here's the problem: Patreon is clunky and garbage. I can't just change the price of the tier itself to make this a smooth transition. I will have to, essentially, create the tiers again with a new price point, and then delete the current tiers. Its especially bad because posts that folks on these tiers had access to, they no longer will, because I can't just set posts to be visible to folks above a certain tier. Its a big mess. But I suppose its okay in some small regard, as I was planning on lowering the amount of slots for those tiers anyway, removing one each. There are a lot of folks with stockpiled tokens, so I'm hoping to stem the flow so those folks can actually get those backlogs finished up. So, this was going to be a messy transition regardless. I'll do what I can to make sure things aren't too much of a pain.

So, that means a lot of things!

-There will be 2 Hierophant ($170) slots opening and 3 Acolyte ($90) slots opening. I have no way to guarantee any one person will get them, even if they were already on that tier, so you'll have to try your best to snag them when I create them.

-If you are currently on the Acolyte tier or the Hierophant tier, be sure to grab whatever zips or WIPs you may have missed. Regardless of if you manage to snag your slot again or not, you -will- lose access to the old posts that aren't specifically set for everyone to see. All the posts moving forward, though, won't have that problem.

-If you are currently on the Acolyte or Hierophant tier, or were previously some time before, any tokens you may have stocked up do not vanish! I still have them logged on a spreadsheet, and you are free to redeem them whenever there's space in the Patron Bonus Comm queue. If you do not succeed in getting back onto the tier you wanted, or just decide to stop pledging to my Patreon for whatever reason, those tokens are still valid for you to use as you desire! Contact me via email to redeem them when you want.

-If you manage to get onto a tier, it SHOULD charge you only the difference between what you were charged at the start of this month, and this new tier. Unless Patreon changed that, which would be weird. 

-If you were previously on an Acolyte or Hierophant tier and fail to (or choose not to) get to the corresponding new tier, you will be placed in a weird tier-limbo. It is not my choice, Patreon is just clunky as hell. You'll have to manually adjust your tier placing, as Patreon seems to put folks on a "nothing" tier with no benefits, but still charge you the same amount you were pledged to before. I'll try to message folks about that if they forget.

-I plan on readjusting the two tiers on January 12th, somewhere around 5-6pm EST. I know its not ideal for everyone, but its all I can do. While I'm in the process of readjusting the tiers, do not subscribe to the old ones if there's an opening, as they will not be around for long and I will have to refund your payment. Don't make extra work for me, please. 

So, yeah, that should be everything. Thank you all for your interest and support! Apologies for those unable to get into the tiers, I'm muchly appreciative of all of your support in the past and it was wonderful working with you. Moving forward, I'm gonna try not to overbook myself with patron work so that I can get a good balance of that, personal art, and public commissions. I'll be honest, I didn't really anticipate that folks would be a bit lax on redeeming what was, essentially, a commission every month! I still think I could manage 3 hiero tiers and 4 acolyte tiers, but not when I'm playing catch-up so heavily. So, for now, I need to lower the amount of tokens I'm giving out monthly so I can hopefully clear up the backlogs. When things are all cleared up, I might open up more again. Please let me know if you have any questions! I want to make sure things are as clear as I can make it.

-What are these "tokens?"

So, for my upper 3 Patreon tiers (Acolyte, Hierophant, Enthralled), I offer tokens that can be redeemed for either commissions or slavestreams, and they receive them every month they're pledged. Acolyte tier gets 1 comm token a month, Hierophant gets 2 comm tokens, and Enthralled gets 1 stream token. These tokens don't go away until redeemed, even if you remove your pledge, and I keep track of them on a spreadsheet. This way, if it happens to be a bad month where the patron or myself cannot get to their commission in time, its not wasted! 1 comm token gets you one linework piece with up to two characters in it, and perhaps a vague background or setting. 2 comm tokens gets you a shaded piece with the same limitations. 1 stream token gets you 6 hours of slavestream, split up as needed or all at once on one night. Its up to the patron to contact me on when they want to redeem their tokens.
