#Sunday Rundown Ive been noticing you guys commenting on the soul reapers running or stepping in the air lol To clear things up I will say that soul reapers and arrancar use their reiatsu to create footholds in the air to make it look like they are walking or flying. It was first shown in episode 3 way back when Ichigo unconsciously "slid" in the air fighting Orihime's brother and in the manga was told to us by old man Zangetsu during Ichigo's training with Urahara early around chapter 63 which would be around ep 20. Like many have said sadly the original anime leaves many explanations out for absolutely no reason whatsoever.

The fact that Suì-Fēng picked Ōmaeda as vice captain is baffling. It shows she is a terrible judge of character even after the pendulum arc.

In my head-canon, Omaeda's family, being the rich a-holes they are, forced the issue with Central 46 so they could brag about having a family member in the Gotei 13. Soi Fon was forced to accept him as a Lieutenant even though he wasn't qualified, and now she wishes he would die so she can replace him with someone competent, but he keeps inexplicably surviving his battles. 😂

#SundayRundown 3 THINGS 1. I think you were already warned about, and have already gotten to episode 266, which you should have skipped to the mid-point of, because the first half is recap; owing to the Zanpakutō Rebellion being extremely long, but what you haven't been told is that you MUST react to the ending of the new season. You'll have a lot to say about the visuals and the song. 2. If you've skipped past them, you should go back and watch/react to episodes 227 & 228. Both are chapters from the manga, and both are good reaction fodder. 227 is a little insight into side-character Mizuiro, as well as back story of how all Ichigo's classmates met. 228 is the beach episode, and is super fun. 👍🏽 3. I know you guys stopped watching the end credits scenes, but from 266 onward, I suggest checking them out again. The ones that happen at this point are hilarious and sometimes setup for things in the actual show. To remind you all, the end credit scenes happen after the credits AND after the preview for the next episode, which you can listen to without watching, since the dialogue doesn't spoil anything.

#sundayrundown So Soifon's lieutenant Omaeda's fight isn't filler per say but it's way longer in the anime than it was in the manga 😭 Also fun fact, Omaeda's father was Yoruichi's lieutenant when she was captain of squad 2 so maybe there's some nepotism going on there 🤔 And Regarding Laura Bailey, it's funny Suraj mentioned her because she voices the Espada Toshiro is fighting but not her subordinate Apache

I don't think she had a choice tbh. Omaeda's father was Yoruchi's Vice Captain, so i assume his son just got the position through nepotism.

@Suraj, Apache isn't voiced by Laura Bailey it's a different VA but Laura Bailey does voice Halibel (Espada Hitsugaya is fighting) and she voices Hiyori (one of the visoreds, the annoying one that calls Shinji "baldy") and she voices Mashiro Kuna (girl with lime green hair, one of the visoreds) Happy birthday Rana ❤️

On the note of them running in mid air. Not sure if it's ever been explained to you, but Soul Reapers can't actually fly. What they do is gather reishi at their feet and use it as a platform to propell themselves (hence walking, running, jumping, and Shunpo). Also as usual it's not really filler but needlessly repetative to draw out less chapters to an episode (keep in mind how fast you can read manga pages vs watching an anime play out). You can probably read this portion in 10 minutes or less, but this has to fill 20+ minutes of air time and it's airing while the original work is still being published which is where the LONG patches of filler come in. On averager they can 3 or 4 chapters to an episode but here they're doing like 2
