#SundayRundown Bad Batch. I appreciate you guys' kind words from the previous Rundown. Rewatching Crosshair’s reveal, the twist kind reminds me of the difference with order 66 in the canon in comparison to the EU. In the EU, there were no chips in the Clones’ heads. Instead, the Clone troopers who made the choice and willingly executed Order 66. One of the best representation of this is the original “Battlefront 2” and its campaign, which is all from the perspective of a 501st Clone Trooper. I also wanted to say that you guys made my day with your comments of the Expanded Universe. I started reading these books and comics last year, and they have been a journey. I would like to clarify some things in my previous comment. First thing, Timothy Zahn’s Thrawn Trilogy, which consists of “Heir to the Empire” (1991), “Dark Force Rising” (92), and “The Last Command” (93), truly kickstarted the EU, essentially resurrecting Star Wars back to life after 4 years of Star Wars being essentially dead (1986-91). This trilogy is also known by fans as the Original Sequel Trilogy. The Thrawn trilogy was Thrawn’s first debut, with him threatening the stability of the New Republic along with having to face Luke, Han, Leia, Lando, Chewie, Threepio, and Artoo. As you continue Bad Batch, you will see even more influence from Timothy Zahn’s Thrawn Trilogy. “Heir to the Empire” was also the debut of a character I mentioned the last time, Mara Jade, who later goes on to be Mara Jade Skywalker: Luke’s wife, fellow Jedi Master, and enemy turned lover. Fun fact, the level of love from the fanbase that Mara received are similar to Ahsoka’s. Really strong love. Feel free to look up what she looks like. For Rana, to answer your previous question, Lucasfilm has always had input on Star Wars books, comics, and video games. Lucasfilm works with the author for things like continuity and rules, but the author is allowed to craft the story they want, for the most part. As for who these authors I mentioned last time are, Timothy Zahn and John Jackson Miller ("Kenobi") are some of the most beloved Star Wars authors of all time. Timothy Zahn is so acclaimed that Dave Filoni had Zahn as a consulting producer on “Ahsoka”, specifically for for Thrawn’s portrayal. Miller also wrote the canon novel, “A New Dawn”, which shows how Kanan and Hera first met. Another example is acclaimed EU author, Drew Karpyshyn. For fans of video games, he is known as the writer behind the stories for “Mass Effect”, “Mass Effect 2”, “Knights of the Old Republic”, “The Old Republic”, and “Baldur's Gate 2”. If you ever wanted to know how the Rule of Two was created, read Karpyshyn’s Darth Bane trilogy. Bane was in Clone Wars as the vision Yoda saw on Moraband (and voiced by Mark Hamill). Thought you would also like to know that Moraband was actually originally called Korriban in the EU. Then they changed it for the Clone Wars tv show. For Suraj, I know you love Andor. If you want books that just focus on the secondary characters of the Star Wars universe like Wedge Antilles, you’ve got to check out the Rogue and Wraith Squadron books by Michael A. Stackpole and Aaron Allston (RIP). I am currently reading through Stackpole’s Rogue Squadron books and they are great and will soon check out Allston’s books. Good space battles, tension, and fantastic characters. I feel like it’s asking a lot, but I would love to see you guys discuss EU books. It is just cool to see new Star Wars fans discover new things. My dad has been on a similar journey for the past year. He only ever saw the movies, and when Ahsoka was coming out and was asking me about details, I just said to watch the animated shows. Never in my life would I ever thought he would do it, but he watched Clone Wars, Rebels, and Bad Batch and enjoyed them all. He also has read four of Timothy Zahn’s EU books and has loved them. One last question I do have for y’all. Whenever you guys finish The Bad Batch, would it be too much to ask for a reaction to Genndy Tartakovsky’s Star Wars: Clone Wars from 2003 even though its Expanded Universe? It’s short, the visual storytelling is amazing, and if you love Samurai Jack, you will love it. Thanks and I appreciate the Sunday Rundown for you guy’s feedback. Feel free to ask for anything like recommendations or just fun facts.

#SundayRundown Bad Batch Not a spoiler bc it never comes up in the show again. It was confirmed after S1 that Crosshair did indeed get his chip out. They technically haven’t confirmed when, but they practically have. They said if you pay attention, there’s a noticable change in his bahavior after he’s gotten the chip out. General consensus is that he got it out after being burned up, since he seems less intense on Ryloth, mainly him NOT killing Howzer

#SundayRundown Always Sunny Apparently on the podcast, they revealed this episode was based on Glenn Howerton actually experiencing getting rear ended while eating cereal

#SundayRundown it's Always Sunny what the gang did was there version of arbitration so they did a five judge panel with the majority rule winning. legal eagle did a vid going over the legal realism of it and talk about Assumption of risk doctrine that dennis was doing something inherently with risk so even with frank crashing into dennis the only damage was from his cereal and would not happen without dennis eating the cereal in the car

Estevan Sandoval

This did happen to Glenn Howerton (Dennis) in real life. He showed up to make the show and was irritated about the damage to his car. Rob and Charlie thought it was hilarious and once he had cooled off decided to make an episode about it. So many good lines in this episode and Mac’s evolution argument is iconic and still relevant to today’s political landscape. “I won’t change my mind about anything. Regardless of the facts set out before me.”

#SundayRundown #BadBatch I remember the last two episodes being reslly intense and Crosshair revealing the removal of his chip was both shooking and unsurprising for him. This is who he is and as clones they only know how to be a soldier which if you have noticed is something even Echo has brough up to Hunter when Hunter is trying to lead his squad towards a new way of life. Also, dont forget that this is year 0 to year 1 of the empire, we are within the first year of galatic rule and transition from Repulic to Empire, this is such an interesting period because we have never seen any stories in this era of star wars
