Blake

Are you guys watching all of them in order?

Smash Bran'Discootch

Fun story about this movie. James Cameron decided he wanted to direct the sequel to Alien. So he calls up 20th Century Fox and says he has a movie he wants to pitch to them. So he gets a meeting with fox. He walks in and says, "I've got an idea for a movie." He then writes "Alien" on a whiteboard. He takes a second, then adds an S at the end. He waits another moment, then draws 2 lines through the S to make a dollar sign. And that was it. That was the entire pitch. They basically hit him with the "SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!"

#SundayRundown. Awesome! Alien and Aliens are legendary films and my personal favorites. However pretty much every film after that (with the exception of Romulus which was great!) have been huge letdowns, most notable alien 3, alien resurrection, and alien covenant. For the purpose of react content you can definitely still watch them but be aware they screw some stuff up and for most fans Ellen Ripley's story should have ended after aliens.

WellRoundedLeo

Please watch Alien 3 it's not as good as 1 and 2 but it's still a decent movie. It's David Fincher first movie

Melissa DeLaFey

For the Precious!!! You have to watch 3 and 4. Pretty please! and yes Prometheus, Covenant, Romulus and maybe AVP

Queef Burglar

The Alien franchise movies in chronological order are: Alien (1979): The first movie in the franchise, directed by Ridley Scott Prometheus (2012): A prequel set in 2089 Alien: Covenant (2017): A prequel set in 2104 Alien vs Predator (2004): A crossover movie that merges the Alien and Predator franchises Aliens vs Predator: Requiem (2007): A sequel to Alien vs Predator Alien (2122): The original Alien movie takes place over the course of one day in 2122 Alien: Romulus (2024): A movie that connects to the original Alien and its prequels Aliens (1986): Set in 2179, 57 years after the original Alien Alien 3 (1992): Directed by David Fincher Alien Resurrection (1997): Set about 200 years after Alien 3

Com1xguy

Is this Theatrical or Special Edition?

Che Arnold

truly agree go ahead and do romulus and prometheus iv never seen the directors cut gives me reason for a watch along.

Objuan

which version of the movie is it theatrical or director's cut?

Ferdinand Buot

The Martian with matt Damon should be another sci fi movie you should react to! Navi Suraj and Rana, all of you would go crazy for it! Enjoy you guys so mcuh, thank you for all that you do!

AnEnthusiasticKoala

My favorite movie of all time. It has everything a GOAT movie needs

GrimLost

PROBLEM: There seems to be a problem with the Uncut of this, in that about 40 odd minutes in we get like the uncut-uncut audio from I think Rana's mic doubled from the usually unheard/not posted mic check onwards alongside the normal uncut audio. I assume it isn't a just me issue. That said, I'm glad y'all are doing this film series. I second watching as many of them as you can. As I've enjoyed the Alien reaction and the 40 odd minutes of this react as well. Much love!

Jesse Vincente

There's weird double audio that starts at like 40 minutes into the uncut. Also to anyone asking it's the theatrical version.

Jordan Crawford

Watch Romulus first. Then go to alien 3 and then Prometheus and covenant. You really don’t need to watch alien 4

Morgan Le Fay

Do all of them. Even AVP…maybe skip Requiem.

Arturo Mauleon Higginbotham.Jr.

There's a double sound over the main sound like 40 minutes in. I'm not sure how that can be fixed but good luck and thank you.

Objuan

Technically prometheus should be watched before romulus.

Rusty Shackleford

You should watch Romulus next, it happens between Alien and Aliens. Takes place 20 years after Alien and 37 years before Aliens (while Ripley was still floating in space) and gives more backstory to Weyland Yutani and how they keep trying to catch and control the Aliens.

Steve Rivera

DO NOT watch Romulus next. I'm going to be the self appointed Alien and Predator expert, if you doubt me I've been subscribed fir several years and hardly ever talk. RED ALERT. Maybe watch Alien 3. It's heartbreaking, but worth a watch I think. Resurrection is a joke, but fun with some beers. Optional. Then watch Prometheus. Controversial entry, but themes alone makes it amazing. Ideally you watch Covenant after that (which I hated at first but now kind of like), but you can watch Romulus after Prometheus.

Steve Rivera

Just trying to preserve the reaction for you guys. Timeline-wise yeah it takes place between Alien and Aliens, but it's not appreciated fully unless you go through Prometheus, in the very least. The prequels play into future entries.

Macs

Requiem might be really good no-one knows since its just a black screen with audio for 2 hours

Macs

definitely theatrical the DC has that bit at the beginning with the colony family finding the crashed ship

liquidlion

Yall should definitely watch all the movies and not just skip to Romulus

Macs

no if they are doing it let them do it, all of them in order

Cory Garron

Alien 3 has Tywin Lannister. Joss Whedon has a writing credit for Resurrection. AVP has the woman from the first Blade.

Daniel R

It's unfortunate that the events of Prometheus are baked into the "Romulus" cake, but yeah Prometheus should be watched first

Daniel R

just my two cents: if you guys want to watch Romulus, it's best to watch the prequels first. it's one of those situations where it takes place during the old movies but it was made after the new movies which means REFERENCES and stuff to try and tie everything together. Aliens 3 and 4 are basically a non-entity at this point, but for the main timeline stuff you should go to Prometheus next, then Covenant, then Romulus.

WellRoundedLeo

I don't know why I always hate when people tell reactors to skip a movie in a franchise. I always say if you can watch them all watch them. Sure some of them might be bad or not as good as the first or some might be just as good

Steve Rivera

I don't think it's unfortunate at all. I know some people really hate the black goo, but I think it single handedly saved the horror aspect of the Alien franchise. Alien is one of my all time favorite franchises, but I'd be lying of I said I still feel scared by the Xenomorph. The goo brings new body horror and freaky ass creatures to the franchise and I'm all for that.

Came to the comments to check if it wasn’t just me just in case I’d accidentally had a second window start playing right around the time I was start/stopping to resync the audio after one of the commercial break edits. It wouldn’t surprise me if the extra audio layer was an accidental side effect/error from editing out the uncut commercial interruptions. I’m thinking about trying to let it play a bit more since if I’m right, the problem might be gone/fix itself after the next commercial break edits. If it goes away, I’ll update this post(possibly less work to fix too if it’s just the one part between commercial breaks). 🤞

Jon Mercano

#SundayRundown Aliens I’m definitely down for you guys watching all the movies. Also all the Predator movies, except maybe the 2018 one An aspect that Sigourney was upset they cut was that Ripley had a daughter, and she had passed away of old age during the 57 years. It made her connection with Newt more special. It’s included in the extended Paul Reiser did such a good job in his role that his mom that he brought to the premier cheered when Burke got got 😂 Giger designed the original Alien. James Cameron came up with the idea and design of the queen and Stan Winston helped bring it to life with a miniature and a large animatronic The origin of this specific queen is never explored. Sometimes a queen is just born, or a random regular xeno will molt into a queen when there isn’t one. It might have come from the derelict ship from the first movie, but it’s really risky to be carrying an already born queen The queen very likely died from burning up on re-entry The story of the colony’s downfall to the xenos has actualy been covered in a comic (Newt’s Tale) and a book (River of Pain) Xenos aren’t smart enough to operate spaceships. The ship from the first was just carrying a bunch of eggs. Remember the apparent pilot was chestbursted, so it probably crashed the ship “Get a knife!” [to cut off the facehugger full of acid]. “You’re stupid and deserve to die!” [for checking the ceiling to check if the aliens are there and make sure they don’t get directly above and drop down leaving no hope of fighting and surving]. Yeah this couch would definitely survive this scenario 😂

Frankie H

I'm glad Rana recognized Paul Reiser was in Stranger Things as Doctor Owens in seasons 2 and 4. It seems that he was hired in Stranger Things to play off of his 1980's movie character nostalgia. In Aliens Paul Reiser plays a guy who claims to be a good guy but turns out to be a villain. In Stranger things he also claims to be a good guy, and those of us who watched Aliens went, "Not falling for this again Paul." So it's kind of a twist when Paul Reiser turns out to actually be a good guy in Stranger Things.

Todd “Canuck” Schmuck

Yeah, I understand generally choosing the theatrical over the directors extended edition for this and most other movies(Blade Runner being maybe the rare exception where more people have access to/own the directors or Final Cut than theatrical), but James Cameron movies tend to have a lot of really good stuff edited for running time in the special editions(besides the daughter subplot in Aliens, The Abyss and Terminator 2 both have FANTASTIC special editions that add depth and fix/explain possible plot holes). Cameron loves to reuse a lot of favorite actors(besides Biehn, Lance Henriksen and Bill Paxton were both in Terminator, and often appear in other movies). The one most often missed/overlooked is Jeanette Goldstein who played the badass Vasquez here. She’s a true chameleon actor who also played the foster mom Janelle in Terminator 2, and the Irish mom traveling third class in Titanic.

Daniel R

I like Prometheus, I just didn't like how Romulus was a hodgepodge of references for the sake of references. I know why they did it but I wish they didn't if that makes sense lol

BT

Dang it, was hoping you watch the extended edition. It's a much better action scene, too. :( But yes, watch Prometheus

thenormies

the uncut to Aliens has been replaced!

Gambit3838

Great reaction as always but the extended directors cut is 100x better. Fleshes the story out even more and you realize why Ripley acts how she does in the end saving Newt.

Gambit3838

Please do NOT SKIP MOVIES in a franchise. If you have 100 people watch something and 70 hate it, that doesn't mean the other 30 are wrong. That's how we chose our latest president. 🤦

Big Time Knights

Prometheus yes. You guys also need to watch all of the Evil Deads, they are great. TV show is not bad either. Also, like Suraj said, Terminator 1 & 2 are musts.
