#sundayrundown Here’s my working theory. kier eagen + co. are trying to obtain immortality though the process of severing your “positive traits” having that part of you put in a chip like petey and then reintegrate into a new “host” body which will also be blank slated due to the severance process. i thinking this is “the revolving” jame eagan references at the end of season 1. i think their job has something to do with facial recognition software and they work in macrodata refinement. i’m wondering if they are picking out the candidates that are most suitable for severance and potentially being a new body for kier or another eagan. some altered carbon shit going on is all i know

There's a fierce debate on Reddit on whether it's Helly R or Helena. I'm on the side that it's Helena but I think both sides can appreciate that the writers left it perfectly ambiguous to add to the paranoia. One commenter added that the shot on Helly's screen in the last minute of the episode is a reference to the movie "Invasion of the Body Snatchers". It's a movie where these plant like aliens gradually replace humans except without any emotions. The Redditor used it as proof that the Helly we see is actually Helena infiltrating the Innies. I'm curious to see if our theory holds true!

The newspaper is clearly a fake not even a good one, thats the photo they took in MDR hellys first day photoshopped into a photo of a parade for President Eisenhower. You can also see in the article it mentions Rickons book The You You Are and a new one called These Values Nine: How I Let Kier In. Which is also probably a fakeout to show the Innies how Rickon now belives in Kier.
