A small token of gratitude (Patreon)
Content
A little conversation on discord made me think about how valuable it is to get so much support for a small but heartfelt project like WR. It's not much but I just wanted to make a short post to show my gratitude to everyone who supports me.
From my developer's point of view, the support, apart from the economic side (which of course plays a role - I'm not trying to fool anyone about that) gives me "positive" pressure and motivation to continue working on the game.
If I were to offer the game without Patreon and Early Access, I'd possibly continue to work on the game, but not to the current extent. As you probably know, I still have a regular job, which is why I only have limited time to work on WR.
Before I started Patreon, I already finished episode 1-3. I took the first picture in december 2019 and the last picture of episode 3 in september 2021. So with coding and writing, it took me about 2 years to make the first three episodes. (BTW, that's also the reason why the first pictures look qualitatively worse than the rest, because I took them on an older PC. 😅)
At that time I was already working in my regular job. WR was just a little hobby/side project. But now that there are people who support me financially, this has changed and I feel obliged to work harder on it.
Episodes 1-3 that I did within 2 years have about 120 minutes of reading time. Everything I've done during the 1.5 years of patreon has a reading time of about 330 minutes. If this continues over the next half year, I will work on WR more than three times as much as I did before patreon.
Now why am I telling you this?
I just want to show that your support isn't wasted and that the pressure this puts on me leads to productivity.
So: I hope you're happy with the decision to support me and you can be sure of my gratitude. 💖😺
